Absolutely Brilliant!!!
22 March 2004
I've just watched this film on BBC2 and I really enjoyed it! It's one of the best westerns I've seen, and believe me, I've seen hundreds if not thousands! It abounds with great characters but I must admit it was wonderful to see Gabby Hayes appear so much throughout the film. This film is better than a lot of other westerns and is good enough to merit a release on DVD!!! Watch it if you get the chance and you won't be disappointed.

I saw this film when it first came out and I loved it then and still do so I'm pleased to have finally bought it on DVD. Just watch it!!! I found it funny throughout and the end of the film where the villain (played beautifully) suffered at the unknowing hands of Dennis is a joy to watch. Just watch it!!!

This is the type of show I really enjoy and in view of previous comments I have read I must say how much I have enjoyed Lindy Booth in the series - she is just so funny!. I am pleased that all of season 2 is now available on DVD and hope that season 1 will be released soon. Love it!

A really entertaining show!

I came across a part of this on one of my old tapes recently. The format of the show was a bit like the 'An Audience with --' series with Michael in the hotseat being interviewed by Michael Aspel in front of an audience including Bob Hoskins and Roger Moore reviewing his career so far. The bit I found was a spitting image potrayal of Michael Caine and Bob Hoskins having a conversation about his career and it is one of the funniest things I have ever seen and every time I see it I end up laughing till I cry especially when the Bob Hoskins ends up banging his head against something in frustration at Michael's comments. I shall have to check my other tapes to see if I have a fuller version as I have a few tapes of Michael Caine which have grown over the years because I love listening to him talking about his life and profession. I just wish this programme was avilable to buy. Long may he reminisce!

aka ' A Row of Crows' in the uk

I really enjoy this film as its the kind of film I like where the pieces are gradually put together to reveal the answers but most of all I love the sound of the atmospheric music which is used and it always makes me mad when some twit of a continuity announcer talks over the end credits and the great music whenever it is shown on tv, which is an increasing tendency these days and has me spitting blood many a time. It should be banned and subject to a hefty fine every time its done. I feel better now I've got that off my chest:-)

The Dakotas (1962–1963)
Ahh-- happy days and fond memories.

Being born in 1940, by the time we got a tv it was the US western series that were being shown and I loved em all--'Maverick'--'Sugarfoot' and my special favourites 'Bronco' and 'Cheyenne', which I still remember with fondness, but it was this series that really impressed me, as I seem to recall it had a harder edge to it. Having only recently discovered imdb.com I was stunned but pleased to note that 3 of the above series are still available on video but was so disappointed that this series wasn't ---- how could you go wrong with anything in which the wonderful Jack Elam appeared. I still maintain that 'Support your local Sheriff/Gunfighter are two of the best films ever made. Oh for a time machine and a video!! God bless America for all the enjoyment you've given me over the years.
