Trivia
11 December 2019
Quite a few similarities exist between this movie and 1983's Groundhog Day.

Andie MacDowell was in both movies as a supporting character. The title character has a lesson to learn before they can continue their life. The protagonists start out expecting everyone to cater to them. The moderate sized town only has one diner. The main characters can't move on with their lives until they understand how other people deal with everyday life. A snow storm strands everyone and closes all the roads. Ice sculptures are created by the local talent. A short snowball fight breaks out during a nighttime stroll. A pivotal point of the movie revolves around an auction at the end.

Warning: Spoilers
The helicopter and the tow truck crash into 3 feet of water but all the main characters are ok, including Hobbs who was on the back of the tow truck and jumped clear just before impact.

Also the helicopter only fired off one air to ground missile but both pods were empty after the crash. When one is used to hit Shaw it has a clearly empty clang like a wastebasket.

At the beginning of the movie it is morning in both London and Los Angeles which are 8 hours apart. They both gather intel that evening and then meet up in London the next morning, which is a minimum 10 hour flight for Hobbs.

Before flying to Russia the doctor tells Hattie she has about 16 hours left before the virus capsules dissolve into her bloodstream. They then get a flight that takes 3 hours, not including boarding time and the time needed to print Visas to visit Russia, fight at the power plant for several hours and then take a 19 hour flight to Samoa.

When the Dobermans are released into the woods they change into German Shepherds. The Shepherds can be identified by their long tails and long upright ears both of which are cropped on Dobermans.

91 minutes of my life gone forever

Warning: Spoilers
I try to find something optimistic to say about even bad movies but this one was awful. After reading the other reviews I decided it couldn't be "that" bad. It was.

Spoilers

After wandering around in the woods and escaping the German death squad the soldiers stumble upon an "aid" station, complete with American female nurses behind enemy lines. The men who have been fighting for three years, on several battlefields, have to be forced to even talk to the nurses much less eat a meal.

This movie had a $6.5 million budget but I couldn't see where any of it was spent on the special effects.

Grenades thrown at soldiers feet only make a puff of smoke. Bullet holes don't bleed, and none of the bullets are through-shots.

Running through the woods they fall into an open machine gun nest and despite being out of ammunition leave the German rifles, grenades, and machine guns, all with ammo, behind.

The Sargent gets shot in the shoulder and has bright red blood, that doesn't run, on his lips and chin.

After blowing up a fuel supply depot the soldiers leave an armored vehicle behind and choose to run a mile through the forest only the be shot as they cross the road by the vehicle that they left behind.

Great series with twists

I love time travel and super heroes and my wife tolerates watching both with me. This combines those both and adds in a very dysfunctional family with a robot mom and a talking monkey.

We both really liked this series and watched it in two nights.

My question is....

Will there be another season?

Great spoof that withstands the test of time.

Bill Murray's deadpan humor makes this a movie that is fun to watch even 20+ years later. What makes it even funnier is the length that modern shows have gone to in making "reality shows". The stereotypical Russian, British, Chinese, German and American roles make for great laughs that have been lost in today's politically correct humorless world.

I love comedies, especially spoofs, and action and spy movies. This has all of that. This was so much funnier than Steve Martin trying to reinvent Inspector Clouseau in 2006

When "Spenser" breaks the locked door with the mallet the hole is not big enough to reach through. The next shot shows him opening the door while still holding the mallet in his right hand.

When they encounter the dead Spenser his eyes are open when viewed from the front but are closed when shown from the side.

When Spenser is on the cigarette case radio with HQ Lori's shadow is seen outside the room on the door as she started to walk in one line too soon.

When Wallace is standing on the ledge Ritchie parks his car in a disabled spot but the car disappears and then reappears when they start shooting at Wallace.

Very slow moving

Warning: Spoilers
Action scenes are few and far between. The dialog seems clunky and doesn't flow well. How much time and drama are wasted on a 10 year old that doesn't know how to check and control her blood glucose? The heist looks totally unplanned and random, ammo is just shot everywhere, and clues are left everywhere. The next scene with the gunman shows everything planned down to inches and seconds but he is shooting targets left and right like he knows where each person will be standing. School in Ohio get out for summer vacation the first or second week in June but the story opens on July 5th (a Thursday) with dad making 5 lunches to last all week. We need to cut back on the gardener, the housekeeper and the security service. That leaves the house wide open for the bad guy.

Yeah, I listed spoilers but there was no where to submit goofs or trivia

How low can you go Nick Cage?
1 January 2019
A group of 10 high schoolers using cell phones and a laptop could make a better movie than this. Nicholas Cage has proved once again that if nobody in Hollywood will touch a script he will jump on it.

The opening scene is so poorly done that the only thing it is good for is to show how bad the movie is.

A great laugh
10 February 2004
Stan as a bullfighter, and a good one, is quite a surprise. Usually overshadowed by Oliver Hardy, this silent short allows him to take the lead, and the limelight.

One can only draw the conclusion that his character "Rhubarb Vaselino" was a parody of the many Rudolph Valentino movies of this era.

Be prepared to laugh yourself silly at some of the dialog, and keep an eye on the special effects.

I viewed this on DVD in a Vol.1 & 2 collection.
