Bodies (2023)
Just, wow!
I am not usually accustomed to writing a review. Who cares what I think, really? But this incredible series is so inspiring that I felt moved to write a brief review. I'm not yet finished watching the episodes, so I may feel like moving my rating of a 9 to a 10 in the future.
I was riveted from episode 1. By episode 2, I, being an American and not always able to understand every word of all the various UK dialects, had to turn on the closed captioning. If my attention drifted for just a moment, I had to rewind a little to catch what I missed.
The series is set in UK, and all the actors seem to be from there. I don't know if the writers, directors, etc. Are all from UK, as well. The UK dramas and even their comedies are so cerebral that they stimulate the imagination unlike mindless American TV. This show is so creative that it opened up worlds inside my head. This isn't like a Bond/007 movie, which seems to be created as much for American audiences as for the Brits. No, this seems to be unabashedly British, like Poirot. This is a very good thing. That being said, I am almost surprised that its rating is as high as it is on IMDb. To those of you in the UK: keep up the good work! Don't apologize for being British!
