The Magic Garden (1972)
what a trip down memory lane
I had started a thread on another message board about vintage children's TV. I had mentioned The Magic Garden and one person replied that he too had watched it. I grew up in NY so I was fortunate to watch this show, and fondly remember watching this along with Romper Room.
Pritty much what you read in the reviews is what the show is about, it's good vintage children's TV, right along side the Great Space Coaster and 321 contact. All shows that I grew up on and wish was still around for when I have kids.
Maybe some day those of us who appreciate these old shows will get lucky and be able to purchase them on DVD. After all the original Land Of The Lost came out recently, and I only hope the others follow suit.
I would buy this show out of the sheer enjoyment of getting to re watch a big chunk of my childhood..
Sweet November (2001)
What I have to say...
Wow, all this harsh criticism. I just watched it via a recommendation by a friend. I did not think it was bad at all, in fact I enjoyed it.
Ok so the plot has been run through the mill once to many times, but as long as it's good-I don't care. The whole concept I got from the movie was this: Life is to short, enjoy it while you have the time. She gave him 1 month to loosen up and enjoy his life, no pressure, no work no anything. Look how much he changed because of her, there was a big change in the character.
I kind of saw the end coming, as I've seen my share of flicks like this. Yes I think the ending could have been different-But I was not the writer-lol.
Overall, It's a sappy yet romantic movie that was well filmed and written. I even enjoyed the actors and I'm not much of a fan of Keanu or Charlize for that matter-but they worked well together.
