13B: Fear Has a New Address (2009)
I can't believe this director directed the paltry "Alai"!
Can you believe that the big Hollywood company TWC is going to remake an Indian movie? Well this movie certainly deserves a Hollywood remake! Have all the essentials of a Hollywood horror movie! I even highly recommend the original director to direct the Hollywood remake as well! I just can't believe that the director's previous attempt was a forgettable movie "Alai" with T.R.Silambarasan! Even for Simbhu it was a forgettable movie! The plot is not very new but still the director weaves a magic in getting the attention of the audience and dragging them to the edge-of-the-seat each scene! The entire theater was shouting at the start but as the narration proceeded there was absolute silence! I went to the theater with low expectation and wanted some cheap thrills on a boring Friday evening but came out with complete satisfaction and scares! I recommend this to every thriller/horror movie fan! I'm out of words to describe this rare gem! Watch this movie! You won't be disappointed! The more exclamatory marks in this passage itself reveals how excited i am about this movie! Hats off Vikram K.Kumar! Your Brilliance and 1 year planning for the story has paid off! MUST WATCH FOR ALL AGES!
Dhool (2003)
A Feast for Action Lovers
Dharani is an excellent director and one must give credit for his earlier works however his recent "Kuruvi" was a disaster. The story is simple. It goes on like this- A man from a village goes to city for a need and end up fighting against dangerous henchmen and local rowdies who eliminate anybody in their path. The action scenes are good. 'Chiyaan' Vikram along with an excellent cast that features Jyothika, Reema Sen, Paravai Muniyamma and especially Vivek has done a near flawless job. The comedy tracks are rib-tickling especially that "Ladoo" comedy. Witty dialogues make you feel very light in an otherwise pacey action flick. Shayaji Shinde has come up with a brilliant performance alongside with Chitti Babu as his sidekick. I highly recommend this for every action fan. Watch "Dhool" you won't be disappointed. I watched this movie like 20-25 times and still raring to watch it each time its shown on TV. Dharani-Vidyasagar combo never disappointed in music and all songs are chartbusters. Some scenes may defy logic but you don't have to overlook it too much because quality entertainment is guaranteed!
A Walk to Remember (2002)
The Movie i watched again and again!
Usually i am a kinda guy who likes Horror/Thriller/Action/Adventure genres but i took a break from that and watched this movie as my friend told more positives about this movie. It was a big turn around. I liked this movie from start to finish and the fresh treatment and usage of youthful talents in this movie is just amazing. This is one movie i watched again and again! After watching this movie i kept on seeing many romantic movies like "The Notebook" and "Sweet November" and all that. But this movie stood out and it really impressed me so much that whenever i feel like boring i watch at least some scenes from this movie to makeup the boring period. Its a gem of a romantic movie and i highly recommend it to all!
Sweet November (2001)
What a Movie!
I don't usually like Romance/Drama movies because i am a hard-core fan of the horror/thriller/action genre. I took a notice of this movie after seeing "Hancock" starring beautiful Charlize Theron and ever reliable Will Smith. I was rocked at her beauty and decided to see some of her past movies and i landed at this movie and downloaded it. Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron shared a wonderful on screen chemistry in this Dramatic Love story and the ending was a totally unexpected one. It was like a candy-floss love story but i am quite surprised by the ending and i am still sleepless thinking about it. Such an impact it creates in its viewers which proves to be a success for the director. I can't believe this movie released 71/2 years before and how i missed it. Charlize looked beautiful and charming in Hancock then what she would have looked like 7 years before? Need Answers? Watch "Sweet November"-"A sweet delight till the end but leaves a mark, a painful one though!"
The Saint (1997)
Low rating not justifying this under-rated gem!
I liked this movie a lot because its pacey and racy from the very start to the finish. I liked the character of almost everyone in this movie from Simon Templar to his foes. I liked the get-ups of Simon Templar too. A good attempt i'll say. Hats off to director Philip Noyce for this. I cannot understand why people rate this so low. Its an Under-rated gem! It deserves some credit whatsoever. The Action sequences and good story make this movie a must-watch! Also Elizabeth Shue is absolutely stunning in this movie and i really loved watching her in this one. Watch this movie with a pop-corn in hand on a cool Sunday afternoon without much expectation of logic, you'll not be bored.
Batman Begins (2005)
What can i say? Nolan+Bale+Caine="TOP" Class
As mentioned above three legendary artists reuniting for a legendary character like Batman is more than just amazing. This movie clearly explains why Christopher Nolan movies are highly rated at IMDb. Recently the same trio combined for "The Dark Knight", a masterpiece sequel for this amazing film, which stormed to the #1 spot among the IMDb top 250 movies pushing the over-rated Godfather down. I didn't see the sequel yet but since its the #1 at IMDb, i have no doubts that its gonna be the best movie of the year. The Dark Knight also features late Heath Ledger, a legend in his own self, as Joker and he should be awarded an Oscar for it. I heard that he scared the s**t out of the audience during his on-screen presence in theaters. I can't wait to see this. "Batman Begins" also helped me to face my own fears without any fear and handle it myself which is earning me more appreciation. So more than just a movie its a lesson for life. The flawless narration, wonderful story, beautiful acting, adrenalin pumping action and emotional contents all packed in to one big action/drama entertainer and is always a treat to watch. Hats off Chris Nolan! you rock!
I'll definitely give it a 9.4/10 rating and it deserves a #2 spot for sure. A must watch for all Batman fans and also Batman haters!
