Murdoch Mysteries: Vengeance Makes the Man (2023)
Pot calling the kettle black
I'm sorry but Murdoch holier than thou. Murder himself has done illegal things. Murdoch thinks he can pass judgement on the inspector when he's no better himself. But his justification is OK. But anybody else's, not so much. (Insert rolling eyes here) Then Mrs. Violets fathers "retribution" when he himself is a HUGE criminal & murderer is ridiculous. Pot, meet kettle.
I love Murdoch Mysteries. But this really irritated big time. I don't think it would've pissed me off so much if it wasn't for the fact, he himself has done things above the law. Since he thinks the law is so black-and-white, he should be turning himself in as well, including his badge. (Another set of rolling eyes here)
Murdoch Mysteries: Clean Hands (2022)
Great episode/other reviews lately???
I have not written the review in a while. And even so I've not written that many. Though I do feel some reviewers are extraordinarily harsh regarding some episodes. I understand TV shows will take history and use some creative licensing. I don't know the difference between the Ontario Mennonites and the Mennonites of Pennsylvania. But I did not see anything such as a hack job on their term for the Mennonites and especially the word "colonies". One reviewer mentioned something about them, not doing shunning. I've actually heard of them doing shunning. Again, it may be geographical as far as whether or not a men and I Community does shunning or not, but I have heard of them doing shunning. So I felt it was an undue criticism.
I have felt some episode stronger than others in the last few seasons. But that's common with any show you watch. I've noticed some viewers, loving episode while others hated it.
I do agree with some reviewers that I think Julia is just one pain in the tush in quite a few episodes. Sure the actress is very lovely. I just think the character that she plays is lacking greatly. I especially hate her breath verbiage. Which to me so many times sent sounds like she's on the verge of an orgasm. I find it incredibly annoying, and kind of gross. But then that's my opinion.
I found this episode very delightful and I did kind of agree with one viewer that I liked that it was down to the only the two storylines. Unless they're soap opera episodes, I find it unnecessary to have too many storylines in one episode. But when they are a continuation, I find them insightful then.
I truly enjoy Murdoch mysteries greatly, and have even gotten my one son to get hooked on the show as well. He's much like myself that I like shows that have a theme of the late 1800s early 1900s time period. And my son in particular enjoys them as well.
Overall, this was a great episode with well written ending.
Frasier: A Day in May (2001)
Missed Opportunity
I agree with the other viewer of Wasted Chance. They could've built an episode around Martin having to go to the parole hearing. And I think it would've explained a lot of things. Here Martin could've expanded on why he didn't want to say anything at his shooters parole hearing. Or they could've had him say something as to why maybe he supported his parole. Or more information on the woman that showed up at the parole hearing. I'm making the assumption here that it was that guy's mother. I think it would help. A lot of people understand the process of what other people go through. It was a missed opportunity. Instead of sticking it in there like it was a hiccup or a nuisance. I'm very disappointed in the writers on this one.
Collector's Call: Meet Paul (2019)
Worth how much??? 😡
Kate the appraiser, I think should, scan over the house again. I don't blame Paul for being disappointed in the appraised value. BUT THEN Kate wants to trade something of hers, for that letter which I feel she lowballs. Something sounds off. Maybe the part of the collection that she only saw was north of $100,000 in value. This disappointed myself as well. But she wants the letter for a John Hancock letter. She should compare the value. Then it might have seemed more legitimate. Her appraisal sounded off to me. She was actually saying that the fair trade of one letter was worth that of the Hancock letter.
