I was skeptical initially but the moment the movie started, I knew I was watching a classic, one that is going to be talked about for years to come. The most admirable parts were the grand settings, the songs and the beautifully choreographed song sequences. Everyone seems to be praising Aishwarya Rai's acting, she did a good job I agree but it was nothing extraordinary. Madhuri did what was expected of her and Shah Rukh was subdued(thanks Mr Director!). One thing though, the movie is more a fairy tale(if I can say so) with a sad ending than a true depiction of the original novel. Everything is too perfect, everybody is richly dressed...so on. But, all in all it does create a spell on you as you watch. A must see for every Hindi movie lover.

I was not so sure of how the movie would be when I rented it, but maybe my low expectations caused me to be pleasantly surprised and kept me in my seat and watch the movie completely. The idea is good...the actors/actresses did Ok, but it could have been much better handled by the director. Still, kudos for such a "brave" project.
