some lines from one who has seen it probably 20 times
12 October 2003
The voting seems pretty accurate, so I do not feel like mentioning the film per se, just flourish the site with a few scenes from the film. Specially you need mention Karzans head on charge with a croc in water, swimming towards it just to glide on top of his head(of course avoiding the mouth) to fight to death. Also; there's a lot of animal-life clearly taken from other shoots- put into the film to make it more Africa, and also some places to spice up in-itself meaningless scenes, like the one where the jeep get stuck in the sand. The jeep cannot move, so a lion is cut in to make it more exciting - can the jeep escape? The whole scene crashes with the sight of the lion, laying lazily and even yawning.. You could write books about the zooming( and camerawork in general) in this movie. The tag-line occurs when the team is gonna kill a Black Widow(..): "Quick!Aim for a nerve-centre!"

A warm recommendation for a good movie for all those who love bad movies.

Too good for Oscar
13 February 2003
One Hour Photo provided me with a mixture of extreme sadness and pure delight. The main character, who`s a real "peeping tom", is played with such sincerity by Robin Williams who seems to have gotten the hang of playing the "bad guy" (last seen in Insomnia). In style and theme it`s easy to compare this flick with films like Magnolia and American Beauty, by which all of them portrays the crucial and life-changing moments which happens to the protagonist. I wouldn`t complain if OHP won an Oscar for best film, but unfortunately the statuette will probably go to some extravagant story with no references to most peoples personal life (ala Gangs of New York)instead of this wonderful treasure. Bye

Buddy Buddy (1981)
In memory of two classic comedians
12 July 2002
Although "Buddy Buddy" is yet to be regarded as a modern movie classic, no other films have made me realize the art of comedy such as this one. Walther Matthau is hillarious in his portrayal of Trabucco the assassin who is constantly being interrupted from doing his dirty deeds, by an even more astonishing and suicidal! Jack Lemmon. Director Billy Wilder has captured moments on tape that we all seem to relate to one way or another. Together with german actor Klaus Kinski, who more often played deeper roles than this, Lemmon and Matthau gives a performance one would normally find on a broadway theatre.
