Only You (1994)

A nice no brainer, but only due to the settings
6 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
So look, from whatever angle you take, this is crazy... taking a chance is good, jumping in is nice, but this is pure and simply stalker-ish. If a guy or girl came after any of us, in the same context, it would make us really really scared, right? Think about it! Wouldn't you have the tendency to run away, call for help, call the police? I don't know about you, but I prefer my love stories a bit more real :)

The only reason I gave this movie 5 stars is for its setting in Italy, as I've seen this country and it is truly wonderful and can be a magical place.

I was looking for movies about traveling, bu this is not so amazing to watch because of an unbelievably corny and not very well played scenario. I've seen both actors in other movies. It has no good lines for a real comedy and the plot is pushed way over the limits.

If you want traveling movies with a better plot and some romance I give you the following names: Under the Tuscan Sun, PS I love you, A Good Year and maybe, maybe Eat, Pray, Love. Not saying these are masterpieces, but they are way better :)

I loved this as it's from my time
26 January 2016
It's the 90's, Romania just got away (to some extent) from communist suppression. The advantage is that good music and movies are coming in more easily and that is important

I might be biased by all this, but this i such a nice movie, even with all the cheesy lines and happenings. I like the characters, so different and quirky and the plot, so easy to digest, yet not simple.

Of course this is not a masterpiece and yet it is enjoyable and funny and even the fact that it's portraying some small piece of an era so well is amazing. I've watched this in 2013 and yet I could relate and understand it was a good teen movie, meant to entertain and make you fell like those simpler times were the place to be, like you wanted to go back to that somehow... Please don't dismiss this, it is a piece o history, well put, well written, well played.

ENJOY :)

Supergirl (2015–2021)
1/10
Where do I start?
20 July 2015
I remember seeing Supergirl the movie, when I was little, loving it and realizing years later how bad it really was and even that seems better than what I have just witnessed and it was made in 1984! I was happy to find this as there are not enough girl/women superheros characters and I was hoping for something else than remaking superman's story but in the worst way possible and with a girl.....

--------- < loads of Bad acting> --------- < such a Predictable storyline > --------- < No well formed character > --------- < No characters you can relate to > --------- < feels Fake overall (like everything is taken from Cliché land) > --------- < made me want to fast forward (which I did... a lot) >

I can't see how this could be transformed into a hit series (superpowers anyone?)

Wonderful story gone bad
15 February 2015
I don't know how to describe it, how to put my finger on it, but it's pure and simply boring and it does not sink me into the story, it makes me want to fall asleep.

The story could have been good, but it was poorly execute. It feels broken, tangled in a silly way and the actors play is anything but credible. I started watching it 3 times and only got to the middle of it as I find it has no substance and nothing interesting.

Simply it is no "The mission" no "The fountain" no nothing I would want to watch to the end.

I give it 3 stars for the settings, landscapes and for the idea, nothing else.

Really? You couldn't have done your homework?
11 April 2014
As I found out along the way, the only movies which can depict a country are the ones made in that country, but the Americans could have done their homework... at least. We, Romanians, have better English accents and know English better than some of the English speakers, so EPIC FAIL on that.

Secondly Bucharest is an interesting place, a kind of love and hate, organic city and the movie caught none of that. EPIC FAIL no.2.

The role of a Romanian should be played by a Romanian. I like Rachel Wood, but she seriously didn't study any of our culture. E.F.3.

Overall the movie didn't create any kind of atmosphere for me, disregarding the rest of the points above. The acting was not very good and the story lacks continuity and it's not even close to believable.

Good luck on watching yet another movie....

Boy meets girl, they live happily ever after
18 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Wasted my time watching this movie. I don't know how she does it,but Jessica Alba seems to star in the worst movies possible. Only 2 good choices, Dark Angel and Sin City.

Anyway, this movie doesn't have a plot good enough to entertain, it's predictable, it's used material, it's just boring, nothing interesting about it. No drama. Bad acting. All is false and far-fetched. The sex scenes are not saving the movie. Boy being hexed by girl when little to never get a girl, all dumping him and moving to the next one who is the one. Boy becomes good luck charm for women, has a lot of sex and decides sex without love is nothing. Boy finds a girl interesting enough to fall in love finally. Loses her because freaks out and acts like crazy. Gets her back, they live happily ever after. Ta da. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
