Mean Girls (2004)

Watch out guys - they're mean
18 August 2008
Mean Girls...well. A movie for teenage girls and that's all. Not for anyone else. It's a good thing that they rated this movie 12a. Otherwise youngsters will imitate what happened in the movie. Lindsey (did some kickback top-notch performances???????) I'm not sure about her, her performances are...okay. Not the best Lindsey! She can do much better than that! I mean show some feeling in your role!!! So were the performances good? Okay actually average performances...SORRY! Could have done better. The script is alright in some bits but not in others. I mean some bits were stupid!! And annoying and unnecessary!! So..thumbs down for the script. Do this movie give a message? NO! Which is so annoying! What the point in making this movie?? Underaverage movie! Awarared 3 stars for fun teen flick lost 7 stars for stupidness.

A marvellous masterpiece
17 August 2008
I came to watch "The Dark Knight" at the IMAX Cinema yesterday. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Batman, but knowing this movie was hugely popular all over the world and has such good reviews, I was desperate to see the magic that has raised this movie to have full stars. And fortunately, I did. Everything was perfect, the performances, the script, the special effects and all the other aspects of the movie. Therefore, it was hard to see a negative point about this movie. I was completely blown away by it, it just kept me at the edge of my seat, staring at the big screen for over two hours. The IMAX graphics were incredible. Visually, I felt like being part of the movie and I have to say, it delivers the 3-D of the highest standard. Absolutely realistic. Heath Ledger (The Joker) was the heart of the movie, he was descended to play the part of "The Joker" as he did some very amusing and excellent performances, if there was an Oscar for the best actor of the year, he definitely should deserve it. He delivers the most energy than anyone, leaving the audience to be entertained. Christian Bale (Batman) did some fantastic performances too, like Heath, he was the PERFECT choice to play Batman. To be honest with you, his fighting was the best part about it, his punches and kicks spread the whole cinema with anticipation. It looked very very realistic. I thought the script, was the backbone of why the movie was the best of the summer. It was well thought out and you can tell the writers did a phenomenal job in producing it.Normally, I'm not a fan of long movies, but the writers tried so hard to make every minute count and successfully they did. It just kept me in the edge of my seat throughout the movie and at the end, it didn't feel like the movie was 2 hours and 32 minutes. But at the end of the movie, I felt like watching more and more. I wouldn't mind if it went up to three hours, as long if it is enjoyable and never runs out of energy for the audience. The special effects dazzled my eyes, especially the explosion of the hospital, which seemed to struck lighting at the audience. It truly should deserves an Oscar. To bring it to a conclusion, it was such a true masterpiece, with incredible performances, script, special effects and whatever else was put in the movie. It was just the best film of the summer. Trust me, you won't be disappointed by this epic, you'll be stunned.

That's So Raven is a pleasure to watch and have on Disney Channel. I throughly enjoyed all the episodes and thought they were funny and enjoyable. It is just such a great show.

Raven Baxter an average American has just one secret, she's psychic. Only her friends and family knows and with the help of her visions in the future, Raven goes on weird, funny and challenging situations to set things right.

This show also delivers a inspirational message too, that always believe in yourself and stop at nothing to fight for what you really want. I thought, that was a spectacular message for the audience. Keep it up Raven!

The Suite Life is a really fantastic show. I loved it and thought it was really funny and lighthearted. Every episode was brilliant, there was not a single one I ever hated, I loved them all.

Carey Martin a single mother, who has two twins who is Zack and Cody live in the Tipton Hotel on the 23rd floor. They have settled well in the hotel and they meet new people in the hotel such as, Maddie, Arwen, London, Azekbon and Mr Moseby. Together Zack and Cody has funny and awkward situations and at the end of the day, they always learn something.

Disney does their magic again!

When this show came out on Disney Channel for the first time, I thought it was going to be another average boring show. But I was wrong, after a few days, I was starting to like it. This show is one of Disney's best work ever! I really enjoyed it and thought it was funny and imaginative.

A normal New York family, has a big secret - they're wizards! The three kids, Justin, Alex and Max, love being wizards but hate it when they don't get to use magic at the time. Together, they through funny and adventures situations and at the end of the day, they like who they are.

Kind of like Harry Potter, but not that much.

An amazing show on Disney Channel in Malibu, Calafonia which stars Miley Stewart (Cyrus) who is a average teenage middle-school girl and she has a big secret...she's Hannah Montana. Only her friends and family know about her secret and Miley tries really hard to keep it that way. She goes through funny and challenging situations in each episode and at the end of the day she still Miley and Hannah!

As for me, a big Disney fan, loved this show and I wasn't surprised at this because I know Disney always has the best shows. What's great about this show is, it's funny, exciting and fantastic and also, it leaves you with a great message at the end. Miley Cyrus did a marvellous job playing Miley and Hannah and I have to say, she has a really fluent singing voice too.

We love you Hannah Montana! :)

Very good show. Teaching kids how to make numerous arts and crafts. It is explained really well, telling the audience what they need and how to make it. Also what's great about that is, they have rule know as "Party Time" which means "Permission Always Required" "Take Your Time" and "Imagination Means Everything". I was impressed by the rules because it has safety and fun in them which allows kids to have success on whatever they are making. This show inspired me to let my creativeness flow too. It is also an episode too, not just a arts and crafts show. In the episodes it features situations that can come up in all aspects of life and at the end of the day, it always leaves you with an inspirational message. Overall a fabulous show, that features situations and laughs and it always is a joy to watch.

I was surprised on how many bad reviews this show got. Well, in my opinion, I thought it was a great show. It teaches little kids to have some fun and cook with their grown ups and singalong to their favourite songs in the show. Speaking of the songs, they were really catchy and imaginative. There show be more shows like this because very rarely do we see kids cook shows. Big Cook and Little Cook are very funny and always know what to do. My favourite character is Small because he is so funny and joyful. Also, this show encourages children the cook by themselves, without having their parents do everything for them. Overall a fantastic kids cooking show, with brilliant songs and characters and I have to say this is one of the best shows on Cbeebies.

Fun, lighthearted educational show for young kids.

I watch this with my little sister nearly every morning and both of us thought it was great.

It delivers a inspirational message to young kids, that always be nice to people and fight for what you believe in.

I loved the setting of it, in modern day Scotland, by the sea. Because not many shows in "Cbebbies" have the setting of Scotland, except for "Balmory" of course.

One of the greatest kids shows ever. Ignore the critics, give it a try, it might just surprise you!

Great lighthearted show.

When I first, heard of this show, I started to regret it and then I thought I could give it a try, excepting it to bee another boring "Eastenders" show, but I was wrong, this show is fantastic. It beats "Eastenders" "Hollyaks" and "Neighbours".

It is set in Australia, a fantastic way to present the show, it's really sunny and modern. I found this show, really good as it represents people lives and different situations. It stands out, it's different from any other teen show I've seen. Absolutely great. I loved it.

Like Telletubbies, a fantastic show for little kids - but do they learn much out of it?

3/5 6/10 stars

Hmm...this show is fun for little kids, very fun, but come on the already have Teletubbies! Little children may enjoy it and watch it on the all the time, but do they learn anything out of it? The "In The Night Garden" characters are really imaginative and funny, but they don't say real words. Such as, the character "Macka-Packa", my one year old sister kept on repeating his name and yes it's great, but it's not even a real word. This show is certainly not educational, which caused 4 stars to be knocked off the rating. I thought the whole point for these kids shows was for education and fun. Sure they got the fun part right, but what about the education part? This show is not right for kids if they want to learn something and be smart and I think parents should not let their children watch this all the time, making it a habit of saying words like, "Macka-Pack" and "Iggle Piggle" all the time.

Fun for little kids, but not educational at all.

The Care Bears (1986–1988)

Dazzling show
8 August 2008
**** out of *****

4/5 9/10

They say that "The Care Bears" is aimed for little kids. But, if it is aimed for little kids, why did I like it? I'm a 11-year old and I known this show for within two years. And then I came up with a few thoughts such as "A great show, really funny and heartwarming, which gives a fantastic message for little kids". For me, a Tiny Pop fan myself, I was dazzled by how this show is presented, especially the plot, in the land of Care-a-lot a group of Care bears has funny adventures finding things out and having fun. But the evil Shrieky, Beastly and No-Heart will stop at nothing to get the Care Bears. Also, like I said, this show delivers a great message to young kids, that always be nice and respect your elders and always fight for what you believe in. It was a great inspiration to me too. The theme of the show is, of course, animation. And as well all know, this show was created in the late 80's and the animation is quite old and gloomy. Bit I'll let this one get away with it, because it was made over twenty years ago and I have to say, I quite liked the animation. Overall, it exceeds my expectations, a great education show for young kids and at the end of the show you always learn something.

The Grudge 2 (2006)
5/10
Utterly confusing and stupid yet scary
7 August 2008
When this movie finished. I was absolutely confused. What was that? I know, they are trying to make it scary and it was but making it scary, made the plot confusing and boring. After each scare, it has another scene, it does not carry on, which causes a real let down for this movie. The beginning, very solid and steady, shows the dilemma of three school girls going to an old haunted house which has Chinese monsters in it. But then it started to get confusing...confusing and CONFUSING!! For me, I would prefer the first adaption then this, because it had more action to it. But visually, I am not considering "The Grudge" to be the scariest horror movie ever. Another failure to this movie is that, practically everyone died! I mean, why? There wasn't any point of that! It was completely unnecessary! Like I said, boring, confusing and stupid. As for the monsters, why do all monsters have to be Chinese? Well I suppose, they look scary and there are not any people to replace them and I would sort of compare this movie to "The Ring" trilogy. But I am not comparing the monsters to it, because there is only one monster in it (not Chinese) and I am not comparing the lack of scariness to it, because "The Ring" is a little bit more scarier then this epic. But my final conclusion, is great performances but this movie was confusing and stupid but yet scary.

A fun movie, with great performances and a great plot. This movie was throughly enjoyable and it delivers a heartwarming message to the audience, that always believe in yourself that you can do it. For me, I believed that was a great message for everyone, especially for young children who wants break free and be themselves or people that are in sport tournaments or playing or acting in a concert. This movie gives you a mixture of feelings, it makes you laugh, wonder and cry. Gurinder did a wonderful job directing this movie and I was impressed by the movie's originality. Overall a fun movie, aimed for all ages. 8 out of ten stars.

Rainbow Fish (2000– )

What a colourful fish
3 August 2008
Excellent show.

"Rainbow Fish" is one of my personal favourite shows on Tiny Pop.

It tells the story of a young fish named Rainbow and together with his friends, Seafilly and Bloom they have lots of funny and exciting adventures.

My favourite character is, of course, Rainbow, because he's so colourful and is kind and loving. And is always determined to solve a mystery.

My most hated character, is Chomper the Shark, he always picks on Rainbow and his friends and is a bully.

It was one year ago, when I started watching this and, as and 11-year old, I still love it.

I thought this show is fun for all ages, no matter what age you are, I will guarantee you'll love it.

My favourite episode was when Rainbow rescued a whale named Billy and Billy is Rainbow's personal bodyguard. But soon Rainbow gets tired of having Billy always protecting him and thinks of a plans to get rid of him.

This show is also delivers a great message, that always believe in yourself and I think that is a wonderful message for young kids.

The animation was really colourful and sweet, when you watch it you can see a mixture of colours.

The voice-animation was great too, really complex and solid.

This show gives you a mixture of feelings, it will make you be anxious, laugh and it even makes you cry.

A great show, fun for all ages.

Finding Nemo (2003)

One of Pixar's best work ever
2 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Clown fish Marlin, a single father, who knows the dangers of the sea, has a young son called Nemo. Marlin will stop at nothing to protect Nemo, as he is his only son. But Nemo's first day of school didn't go well, as he and his classmates are going to the Drop Off and Marlin suddenly swims to the rescue. At the Drop Off, Nemo and his friends see a boat in the open sea and they're challenging each other to swim nearer to the boat. But Marlin swims in to the rescue and blames Nemo for what he's done and tells him to come back home. Disobeyed by his son, Marlin shouts at Nemo as he swam on and on to the boat. But suddenly, Nemo is captured in a net by a scuba diver and bring him back to the boat. Shocked that he lost his only son, Marlin chases after the boat - swimming as fast as he can. But the boat was too fast for him. Marlin suddenly bumps in to Dory, a jolly blue fish who has short-term memory lose. Dory offered to help Marlin be reunited with his son. Together, they go on an exciting adventure, full of dangers such as, tackling three sharks, running away from an angry angler fish and trying to get past a swarm of jelly fishes. Meanwhile, Nemo get dumps in a fish tank, full of many other fish, who wants him in their gang, as Nemo faces trying to get himself out of a pipe by himself and swimming through a sack of bubbles, he passed all the tests and joins their gang and gets a new name, which is "Shark Bate". Suddenly, Nemo makes new friends and tells them about him being separated by his father. Dertermined to help him, he and his gang thinks of ideas to help Nemo to see his father again. Don't worry Nemo you're father is coming to the rescue!

Finding Nemo is a true masterpiece, as it shows of a movie of a father and son being separated and the father will stop at nothing to find him. Also, I certainly thought that this epic is a great family film, aimed for all ages, because it's not that sort of movies where it's aimed for only children, teenagers or adults. It's a mixed movie, which visually allows everyone to watch it, no matter what age you are. As an 11-year old, my dad brought this movie on video two years ago, along with "The Lord Of The Rings". Despite the fact, my video player is not officially working, I still wish I could watch this movie again, because it sometimes bring back some memories of me as a young boy.

Albert Brooks and Alexander Gould (as Marlin and Nemo) did some spectacular voice animation, in their role, with great concentration and lots of energy to deliver to the audience. Along with Ellen DeGeneres (Dory) who did an amusing performance playing Dory. Overall, the cast did some wonderful voice animations. The plot was extremely well-presented, completely solid and complex from beginning to end. With not too many characters or plots, just simple and heartwarming. The animation was really colourful and imaginative, with great special effects to make this movie worthwhile.

A great family film. Fun for all ages.

Spectacular sequel
1 August 2008
Fabulous movie.

I got this movie for my 10th birthday, along with "Over The Hedge".

This movie is such a great family movie and trust me you will get a mixture of dazzling feelings.

You will be anxious, laugh, cry and even be blown away.

Take my word, as an 11-year old, I found this movie a blast.

It has produced amazing progress, since the first "Ice Age". A heavy character build-up, more colour has been added on, not to mention more effects and more entertainment.

A dazzling plot, with a few laughs and tears. Well-thought out, I must say, from beginning to end, just solid and complex.

A great development has been made on the special effects. Such as, when the ice broke, it looked very realistic.

The voice animation was magnificent. They were all very realistic and solid. So well done to the cast.

OVERALL RATING : 9.03/10 STARS

A must see movie.

Tip tap toe, Happy Feet's got moves that will blow you away
1 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Normally, I don't give animation movies 10 stars. But this epic brought something new and to the world of animation. Very rarely, has there been animation movies like this, it is one of the best movies ever. As for me, I was excepting it to be just a movie about a penguin dancing, but I was wrong. Very wrong. It was a true masterpiece, which shows the destruction to penguins by humans and toe-tapping unique penguin, trying to find answers and trying to believe in himself to be the best that he can be. I was absolutely touched by this movie, that it lightened up by heart and gave me a great feeling inside. The voice animation was magnificent. Completely a phenomenon. The wonderful cast did so well in the acting and they tried extremely hard to make it realistic and fragile. The plot was beautiful. Visually, completely solid and flawless from beginning to end, the writers should deserve an Oscar for their wonderful work. The story is complex and heartwarming, and it tells the story of a young penguin called Mumble (a.k.a Happy Feet), who has a rare talent. He can dance. Disapproved by everyone, Mumble goes on a adventure to find out about humans and why they are causing destruction. This movie also gives a great message too, that always believe in yourself and if anyone says you can't do it - you can.

Mamma Mia - what a great movie
31 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Such a great movie.

Disney's best chick flick ever.

Mia Thermopolis (Hathaway) is a shy, unpopular 15-year old girl and she has some big news. Her Grandmother, Clarisse Renaldi a.k.a the Queen of Genovia (Andrews) flies in to tell Mia that she is a princess because her father died recently and what Mia doesn't know that he was the Prince of Genovia. Shocked, Mia has to make of choice that will change her life forever. Eventually, she makes up her mind of being a princess and she has princess lessons and a total princess makeover. Now, Mia and her grandmother soon start to develop this bond and has a big future ahead of her full of challenges and choices.

Anne Hathaway did an amazing job with her role, it was flawless and complex and she put in lots of energy to it as well. Along with Julie Andrews who was once starred in "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound Of Music" and she still delivers magic to the audience. Overall, very good performances by the cast.

The plot was well-thought out and solid from beginning to end. It starts off at Modern Day San Fransico and we see a teenage girl, with glasses on daydreaming in the morning and that's when we have the build up of all the characters, then at the end, we see a beautiful girl, confident and happy about who she is. So it is very simple and also realistic as well, so well done writers.

Overall, a great Disney chick flick, with fantastic performances and a fantastic plot. Also, it leaves a great message to little girls to believe in themselves. Two thumbs up for Princess Diares.

Nancy Drew (2007)
8/10
Great movie, with a few twists and turns
31 July 2008
I'm a big fan of Emma Roberts and seen her in many shows and movies before, such as a movie "Aquamarine" and show called "Unfabulous". They were all great shows and movies and I was dead impressed by her performances, they were spectacular, and she put lots of energy in them as well, which is an added bonus. Well done Em.

Then I heard about her new movie, "Nancy Drew" and I was surprised to her in the movie, because she is normally plays a young teenage average teenage girl who likes to go shopping and hang out with her friends. But this movie, it changes her personality, she's no longer a normal average teenager, she also likes to solve mysteries and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. Which is fantastic, because we see two different Emmas here and it's great to see her in some sort of mystery movie.

As for me, no fan of the books or Nancy Drew, I thought I could give this movie a try and surprisingly it was a great movie. And her are the reasons why I enjoyed it :

The performances were all fabulous, all the cast done their role fluently and you can see they put lots of energy in their role to make this movie worthwhile. But the one that stands out, was Emma Roberts, who surprised us all with her sleuthing and she is still young, but she was the heart of the movie.

As for the plot, very good. But I feel a little more action could be delivered, because in some parts of the movie, it's boring. So if the finishing action were 15 minutes longer, it would have been excellent. But overall a great plot, simple and complex, with not too much dialogue or characters, so the well done writers.

Overall, a fun movie, with a few twists to keep us entertained. With splendid performances by the cast, it scored hundreds and points for this movie, but a little more action could be added, if there was it could have been excellent. I thought 8 stars was right was the right rating for this movie, because of its brilliance. So once again, well done cast and crew.

Funny lighthearted comedy
31 July 2008
9/10 stars

What a great movie.

I started to regret this movie at the beginning, because I thought it was going to be another old typical chick flick, but I was wrong, I surprisingly enjoyed it.

This movie is more than a chick flick, it's about true friendship and love, confronting your fears and sticking to your to friends no matter what. That was really great.

It gives you a mixture of feelings, it makes you laugh, cry, wonder and also gives you butterflies.

And what's also great about this movie is that the plot was steady, simple and solid (or you can call it "SSS") and it didn't have too much plots, so that it excellent.

The performances were all splendid, but Sara Paxton (Aquamarine) did a phenomenal role of playing a mermaid who's looking for love and she is very amusing and lighthearted too. So well done.

This movie is perfect for a sleepover or a Girls' Night Out or even if you want to have some "me time" it's perfect for that as well.

Another point, about this movie is that, it gives a great message to you as well, that always be a true friend to your friend/s and always support them and also help them no matter what. That is what makes a great friend. Which is a important message for girls.

Overall, a wonderful romantic comedy, with great performances and a great plot. It also gives you a fantastic feeling in your heart and leaves you with an important message. So well done cast and crew, this movie was definitely a success.

Heartwarming, fun, charming and dazzling
30 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
9/10 stars

13 Going On 30 was excellent.

I loved it, this is the kind of romantic comedies we want. It has a million words to it (good ones of course) and it leaves you with a great message. This movie makes you have butterflies, laugh and even cry. For me, I was absolutely astonished on how amazing this movie is, it stands out in the world of romance and is a perfect movie for a girls' night out or a sleepover. I've got this movie on DVD and whenever I watch it, even when I'm sad, it gives me a great feeling in my heart and makes me happy.

Jennifer Garner offered to play the role a beautiful 30-year old women, who works for a magazine called "Poise" and just wants to have fun and find true meaning of herself. She is the heart and soul of this movie, along with Mark Ruffolo, who plays Matt and is a young, kind man, who is living quite a normal life, until Jenna (Garner) came along and changes his life. As for the rest of the cast, they were the heart and soul of the movie too, because at the end of the day they all did some outstanding performances to make this wonderful teen movie. So well done.

Amazing plot, completely solid from beginning to end and you can see that the writers tried to make this movie simple and complex. I mean, not too much plots or dialogue, just a simple and heartwarming movie. The idea of the movie plot was very clever, a 13-year old girl just wishing to be someone else and that she got her wish and you can see that it is not so much fun after all. Which gives a really meaningful message saying that, everything is worth the worth if it is fantastic and that Jenna rushed 17 years of her life, just to become 30 and that it's not that good, because everything is weird and confusing and also you start to miss when you were 13. The second message it to make the right choices and really think about what you're doing, like Jenna lost her best friend, Matt (Ruffalo) and gave up her old life, just to be cool and hang out with the popular people, but it turns out it's not so good either and you feel stupid for letting your old life go and that you miss it. And I thought those two messages, is great advice for having the best in life.

So having a sleepover and tired of pillow fighting and hair doing, well this movie is always their to entertain you and and your friends. Or wanting to spend some "me time" after a long, stressing day at work, then rent this movie on DVD, turn off the lights, grab the popcorn (and the chocolate and coke) relax on the sofa and get ready to be blown away. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah :)

A fabulous film, really moving and touching and I didn't except the dramatic twist at the end. Something different from Disney - great.

This movie encourages children who mostly get bullied to lift up their hearts and find the true meaning in themselves. This was a great inspiration to me too.

It lightens up your heart, makes you laugh, makes you bit your nails and even makes you cry. This movie is really touching, probably the film of 2007, for me.

The performances, script and special effects were the heart and soul of the movie. Just magnificent. Terabithia looked spectacular.

Unlike any Disney film you've seen. Trust you'll love it and it will blow you away. Honest.

He's back and better than ever

Warning: Spoilers
After the two year wait, he finally back and better than ever. I thought this movie was a real treat for Spider-Man fans, it was excellent, with lots of energy to entertain the audience and has a few twists and turns. Better than the first, it made good progress since then, this movie is more complex and exciting than the first, so you can see a big difference when you put this movie and the first together.

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is facing more stress than ever, after two years of saving the world, life becomes more harder for him. He's been fired from his job, the newspapers says that Spider-Man is a criminal, Peter is not doing so well at school, his true love has been engaged to another man, his friendship with Harry is falling apart as Harry wants revenge on Spider-Man for killing his father and a scientist called Doctor Octavious does a fusion experiment but it leads to failure and he turns into a villain with four tentacles controlling him. This time, Peter must learn to control both of his two lives and he must find time to save the world and also try and live a normal life as a college student. But as the world needs Spider-Man's help as Doctor Octavious starts destroying and killing the city, Peter must make a choice of who he's going to be, Peter or Spider-Man...

The performances, script, special effects were all amazingly brilliant. So well done.

Overall, a great movie, with special effects were out-of-this-world, the performances that were outstanding, but a little work needs to be done on the plot : it needs cutting down, if it were 5 minutes shorter it would have been a masterpiece. But an enjoyable sequel and if you haven't seen it, you should!
