160 minutes of Class!
14 April 2022
Rocky Bhai does it again. Adrenaline rush and goosebumps through out the movie. All the costumes we so good. Wish all the suits that rocky wore fit perfectly someday on me too ;). Sanjay dutt did a commendable job and they embraced the Vikings reference! Production design is out of this world and can be compared to few of the Hollywood movies. Cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda is also very good! BGM is always in perfect sync! The romance angle was bit forced, cringy and sometimes it crosses the line (the entertainment dialogue, the only dialogue which didn't get any whistle from the audience!). But speaking of entertainment, if you want a entertaining movie packed with well choreographed action, go watch it on theater soon and don't wait for OTT release.

Nostalgic rush for any 80s or 90s kid brought up in Bangalore!
2 December 2019
Every frame and every detail was shot in a way that you were sent back to 90s using a time machine! For a moment I thought it was shot in 90 but then you didn't have drones to give you those beautiful shot of hills! Lead actors were so convincing in portrayal of romance and innocence that many scenes gave me goose bumps. Minute details like old bmtc bus, the movie posters, the school uniforms and other details brought back old memories of Bangalore before the IT boom!

Hats off to Roopa Rao And team. Thanks for this movie.

Don't miss it on Amazon prime!

A must watch if you are a motorhead or a racing fan!

When you think of great sports movies, Rocky, Remember the titans and Rush comes to your mind. This movie won't be know as the best sports movie of all time but would surely be among the top 20. Everything that needs to be said has already been said about the two leading stars in the movie but big shout out to the supporting cast including Jon Bernthal who was great.

The story is good but it's a biographical drama so not much can be changed even though there were few liberties were taken with few facts that were presented.

The sound design was excellent which made your heart race faster when you heard the roar of the Ford GT 40!

Cinematography by Phedon (who was also the cinematographer for the pursuit of happiness) gives us some nice shots of the race which immerses you into action.

I got to watch it as part of secret preview show! It will get few Oscar nominations but doubt it would claim any big prize. Solid 9 out of 10 for me. A must watch if you are a racing fan or a fan of good sports movie.

Heart warming road trip movie
5 August 2018
This unusual and almost unthinkable storyline doesn't push you anytime to think it's another Bollywood masala movie. The direction was so crisp and clear it made the viewers hooked to the story from beginning till the end credits and made you connect with each of the characters. All the 3 lead artists have given amazing performances. Dulqar has been given a great role where he can explore his wonderful acting spectrum which his Malayalam movie fans would already been exposed to. Mitila has given a great performance which all the"Snapchat" generation would find it easy to connect to and has few similarities with the role in Muramba, a Marathi movie where she has similarly excelled. Fans of her who have been following her from her time in web series would be very proud of her! But Irfan khan was the heart beat of this movie who again effortlessly holds the movie together and his comic timing is second to none. Cinematography made me remember and miss my road trip days in Karnataka and Kerala. Music was both sweet and soothing. Only negative is small plot hole which i wouldn't like to reveal here. If this movie was a dish, it would be a very satisfying Clear soup!

Superb acting and story
15 June 2018
It's coming of age Bollywood movie which is not everyone's cup of tea. But it has got great acting by all the cast, especially by the 4 leading ladies. Each director has given us stories to remember in their own style. The way they handled tricky scenes is very commendable and kudoes to the actors who pulled it off very well. Special shout out to Manisha Koirala who has given a amazing performance. Wish each stories had some more screen time.

The Lunchbox (2013)

A Lunchbox to fill you craving for a good Bollywood movie
22 September 2013
Lunchbox review: Note: Don't open this Dabba if you don't like slow paced movies!!

After a long time i have watched a Bollywood movie where in the movie makes you think about your life and how it can buzz past you before you realize it and that if you don't start to enjoy the small things like the bendi ki sabji, you will be made to eat Aloo Gobi every day (Just kidding) As they say in the movie "Sometimes the wrong train takes you to the right destination" ie Every cloud has a silver lining!!

The story revolves around a misplaced dabba (Trivia: Dabbawala's supposedly have a low error ratio, i.e "one mistake in 8 million deliveries."!!) Irrfan Khan has done a tremendous job both in acting and narrating the story. Nimrat Kaur(the Dairy Milk Silk girl!! ) and Nawazuddin Siddiqui fit their characters perfectly and have done a wonderful job portraying their roles. The only downside is that the pace of the movie is bit slow. But if they had edited it further it would have been a 1hr episode!

The Gujarati film "The Good Road" must have been really good to beat this to be the India's entry into the Oscars.

Rating: I will go with ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ /★★★★★ for this wonderful film.
