Penance (2009)
Graphic, Decent Film
This film lures its viewers down into an graphic and disgusting abyss around the role of being a stripper, and attempts to terrify strippers and pre-strippers away from the lifestyle. Shot in documentary style, we are taken into a dark world that crosses between stripper life, trickery, and dark religion.
A redeeming quality of the movie is how it gave the impression that certain risks aren't worth the reward and that desperation can bring us to threatful situations. Certainly not an original plot, but the movie was decent enough for viewership. The acting was alright by a mostly anonymous cast.
Michael Rooker's character should have been predominantly featured as the character hadn't been seen in most of the film. He played his role well of a psycologically disturbed man who twists morality, righteousness, and penance to teach a lesson to the women that chose to sell their body. This movie is also not for the weak at heart and gets very graphic.
All in all, I'll write it off as nothing special. You can give it a look though, but if you have a better film to watch, you should slip that in instead.
Freeway Killer (2010)
It Held Me to My Seat But...
Well it was engaging and intense and it held my down to watch in curiosity mainly because of that sicko sinister character, a gracious savior to this film in my opinion. Other than that, most of the acting coming from all the other characters were lackluster and nothing groundbreaking really happened in this movie. I predicted pretty much how the story would weave, it wasn't hard to see much of it coming. Just sit back and watch it and don't expect anything major at all. But definitely once again an intense and engaging submission that reminds us the kind of people we inevitably share society with. So overall, it was an alright movie! I give it 5/10. Is it worth a watch you ask?...It won't make your eyes bleed.

Perfect Sleepy Experience!
I honestly am bewildered with how overrated this film is judging by the ratings. Got my first glimpse of the movie and the characters were just a turnoff, they were bland, none stood out, it was just meh. The premise of the movie feels so light and had me fall asleep in front of it while it depicts its little science-fiction plot hole presentation. The best compliments for this one are its animation which was pretty nice. Other than that, it did nothing for me whatsoever, and I'd highly recommend people save their $9.50 or whatever the price for cinema admission. Don't waste your money. But of course, at your own will while you can't say I didn't warn you, you can check it out...
Grizzly Park (2008)
Um... It's Just There, Some Entertainment Though
This flick revolves around eight brainless, disregarding, and non-caring young adults that were originally to amend their criminal misdemeanors through a week of community service. I could just sum it up exactly as that and you could get the depiction of this "headless zombie" of a movie.
Man this one lied in wait before it kicked off and the feeling with this film wasn't much horror-like at all. It was quite like watching teenage soap or Dawson's Creek for about an hour with Ranger Bob in there directing traffic and taking some disrespectful behaviour by the youngsters before things got to the gory action.
Glenn Morshower (Ranger Bob) is quite a decent actor and perhaps the only interesting and likable guy in the casting. The rest were just behaving very poorly stupid. Even a few lines in there that were indeed incoherent like "how do you tell the time, do you use the sun or something". How does a sun tell time? Unless she had a sundial, then I'd understand. To other incoherence, what happened to the imposter ranger who made impact at the beginning of the film? His scenes were pointless since they placed him as a force to reckon with, then just wrote him off before he could do serious damage.
The acting performances of the casting besides Ranger Bob, were just horrid at best. I'm sorry, they conducted a really terrible job trying to make believe. At the end, I must say I liked that what they did there. Cool little ending. All in all, this movie ain't nothing special, it ain't nothing much, it's just there to catch a glimpse off of. It's got some entertainment. But fast forward at your own will, I know I did some parts.
The Unborn (2009)
Decent Film
While the full-length trailer painted a highly action-packed paranormal horror-thriller and was marketed well to draw viewership to theatres, the flick managed to score limited scares with the creepiness of the paranormal and exorcism factors it possessed along with its good budget and effects. Furthermore, it revealed some comic relief in both the no more than adequate acting performances on part of Odette Yestman and Meagan Good, in some of the dialogue and as well as other elements of the film. Honestly, not entirely did it live up to the trailer, and neither was it a terrible movie, but just about another film you could wait to rent out.
