Motorhoming with Merton & Webster (2021)
Boring comedian couple go on trips in a motorhome with boring consequences
How this was commissioned for a second series is beyond me.
Paul and his comedian ( ????????? ) wife travel around the UK in a motorhome. You don't really get to see much of the UK and it all seems a bit fake and uncomfortable at points when they are chatting to other people.
Paul is not engaging and comes across as lazy and just can't be bothered when trying to do simple tasks and the running theme in the first series of what to call their motorhome is childish and unfunny. Suki seems nice, but is equally as boring.
Surely there must be a famous couple who actually likes motorhoming or camping who would be more engaging.
I can only think that Paul has got something really bad on the person who commissioned this and is blackmailing them somehow to force them to put this on the telly. It's absolutely tedious.
Ridley (2022)
Adrian, Adrian, Adrian..... What the heck were you thinking???
Honestly don't know where to start with this programme.
There have been a fair few disappointing crime duds on the tv recently, but Ridley is up there with one of the worst. It's almost so awful, you have to watch it.
Ridley is a retired detective who goes back into the force to help with some new cases. He also lives in a remote house by a huge expanse of water
( why does nearly every police drama nowadays seem to be based by water ?) and either owns or has shares in a Jazz club, hence the awful jazzy music in the background for most of the programme.
I cannot understand who's idea it was to have Adrian sing at the end of each episode in the club, very much like how Jane McDonald does in her cruising prog ( but at least she can sing ). He's out of tune and has to be watched through my fingers as I'm so embarrassed for him. As another reviewer has commented, I'm sure that there will be a Christmas album of his crooning.
I really like Adrian and also Julie Graham and I can't understand why they decided to do this.
There is some great acting by other police characters, but sadly Bronagh Waugh, who i've liked in other progs just couldn't quite pull her character off.
It's honestly like some people have just forgotten how to act since covid and lockdown.
Maybe the baddish hammy acting in parts is down to the weak writing and script. All 4 progs were very predictable.
Day of the Dead (2008)
day of the crap
Thought we would give this film the benefit of the doubt. wrong wrong wrong. utter pants movie. wasted a couple of hours of our life watching this rot... isn't there some kind of height requirement for the army? i'm sure mena suvari wouldn't meet it.It's like allowing Jeanette Krankie join the police force(no offence Jeanette 'Fan Dabby Dozee'). please don't waste your time watching this. I'm writing this comment as i've given up watching the film. The special effects are really bad.To be honest the special effects in Michael Jackson's Thriller were better. And since when did zombies have the ability to climb walls??? If you want to see better movies watch the first 2 remakes or even better, watch 28 days and 28 weeks Later.
