Life of Villa (1912)
Life of Villa is NOT "Life of General Villa"
The "Mutual" film, "Life of Villa" 1914, was one of four about Pancho Villa. The first which was Biograph's 1912 version according to our research was strictly a documentary. From our research, it is believed that Raoul Walsh, Charlie Rosher and W. Christie Cabanne (Both with Biigraph at the time) went down to Mexico to shoot it, early in 1912.
By the same token, when D. W. Griffith went to Mutual Film Company, he took all of his Biograph people with him. From our understanding, this is why the same three (Rosher, Walsh and Cabanne) also shot "Life of General Villa" in 1914. Any comments are appreciated and thanks! Thomas Bond II Biograph Company
