Most insultingly STUPID, ABSURD movie ever made
10 April 2022
Escape from the Planet of the Apes is a solicitous demonstration of Hollywood's STUPIDY and LACK of RESPECT for viewers.

This is Liberal Hollywood miking a past movie way beyond any possibly viability. It is an insulting display of Hollywood excess and pomposity. This movie will turn people AWAY from going to movies. The writers of this movie should be BANNED from the movie business.

Gunsmoke: The Trappers (1962)
Season 8, Episode 8

Strong character driven drama
30 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Another morality play of Gunsmoke. Strother Martin delivers a wonderful performance first playing a trapper partner who appears to have a character flaw creating interesting viewing. The story has some twists and turns caused by Strother's apparent innocence and gullibility, but with the help of Marshall Dillion, he is made whole at the near end of the story. The very best part is at the conclusion of the story when Strother explains his actions and beliefs to the Marshall as they sit in the light of a campfire. Strother and his trapper partner Tug ultimately renew their partnership and cost friendship during a heartfelt conclusion. What a thoroughly enjoyable episode

Corey and Granger provide strong performances
25 May 2012
I enjoyed both Corey and Granger performance. However, I especially liked Corey's strong character performance in "The Wild North". Corey's understated character contrasts well with the mountain man persona of Granger. In later years, Corey always was cast in submissive, retiring roles which really did not suit him. Corey projects a strong 'quiet' type of presence and with a high level of integrity. Cinema photography and accuracy is especially fabulous in this movie. No fake Hollywood sets for this movie.

The story builds as the character development becomes apparent. Viewers begin to identify and feel for the characters making the story even more vivid and realistic. The best compliment I can pay this movie is that it allowed me to feel like I was up North with them during the trek!

Movie ruined by constant screaming of Dakota Fanning
6 August 2011
An otherwise acceptable remake of a stunning original is rendered almost unwatchable by the constant screaming and whining of Dakota Fanning. What possessed the director to include this whimpering whining young girl in almost every scene is a total mystery. Fanning is a constant distraction and highly unpleasant presence in the movie.

Fanning's ear piercing scream is a constant drain on the viewers focus and a source of pain.

Fanning is like a bleeding wound in the movie. I truly felt like reaching into the movie and taking her out of the theater. She is like a constantly crying baby in a restaurant or theater. Simply terrible!

Claudio & Wife blown up in huge gas explosion yet they are 100% O.K.
17 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
In an example of Hollywood being at its worst, after Shwartznegger massively blows Claudio and his wife to ashes in a gas explosion, they both suddenly reappear a minute later attacking Arnold.

Claudio and his wife are briefly shown as motionless cadavers yet they suddenly are perfectly coiffed, dressed cleanly, and as strong as ever with no after effects of being blown up. Ridiculous and insulting! Not a single hair is singed, no clothing is blackened or burned, and they are as healthy as horses able to fight Arnold.

Hollywood earns ZERO credibility for producing this kind of poor quality nonsense. Shame on Arnold for being part of such trashy cinema.

Movies are not worth paying to see if this drivel and folderol is what Hollywood produces. The public deserves more....far, far more. This example I discuss was just one of many problems with this movie. Either Arnold has lost his mojo or he was hungry for dollars to make a defectively written movie as 'Collateral Damage.'

More proof Keanu Reeves is without any acting ability
14 May 2011
The card board acting style of Keanu Reeves once again contributes to a dull, flacid, unmoving, uninteresting character. Kenau bores the viewer and is part of a thoroughly dull, poorly written remake. Keanu is idiomatic to the completely lifeless style of movie Hollywood has declined to. If it is not screaming characters, roaring auto chase scenes, another world disaster, race baiting nonsense or worthless remakes, Hollywood has nothing to offer the public.

This "The Day the Earth Stood Still" movie is yet another Hollywood bomb that relies on CGI and fails to provide anyone or anything to care about. The golden age of Hollywood has past. Hollywood has lost the ability to make character driven movies. Hollywood fails to respect the emotional intelligence of the public and instead produces worthless garbage no one cares about.

Keep it up Hollywood, you will be soon replaced and all the regressive democrat party socialists will be out of work.

Breakdown (I) (1997)
10/10
Makes even regressive leftist liberals want to shoot them all dead.
27 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I have always been a fan of Kurt Russell. However, "Breakdown" is a success for Kurt providing viewers with a thoroughly believable thriller story that anyone might horribly find themselves in.

The kitchen scene is fabulous and classic terror. The protagonist faces off against the maniac sadistic antagonist and his family. Also, the ultimate climactic resolution is reached only by the protagonist negotiating through increasingly thrilling standoffs. Fabulous writing and a fantastic gripping movie! The strong connection and devotion between Kurt and his wife Kathleen Quinlan creates a very credible motivation for the entire story.
