The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (2019)
Cheesy Low-Budget Disaster
The whole thing was a disaster. Low quality acting, more fiction than fact, and it bore little resemblance to the actual murder. I practically over-dosed on the creep factor, especially with respect to "Just Glenn" the painter. Where did THAT come from? The characters bore no resemblance of the actual people involved maybe with the exception of Chris. I could not finish watching it because it was so poorly written, acted and the dialogue was cheesier than anything I've seen in recent history. This film just didn't know what it "wanted" to be. It's too bad that a classier film "inspired" by a true event couldn't have been done.
Family (1976)
Tubi took it off!!!
I loved this show in the '70's and bought Seasons1 and 2 on DVD. I was so happy when Tubi had it but they recently discontinued it. This is a show that still rings true 43 years later! BRING IT BACK ON ROKU or another streaming channel. The plots facing the Lawrence family are those that we still face today! My favorite episodes are" Skeleton in the Closet and Someone's Watching. I also adored how the series brought "Buddy" from adolescence into teenage years, with some of the same struggles facing the young generation today. Sada Thompson was the perfect Kate Lawrence. As the matriarch of the family, she presented herself with strength and class.
Knots Landing: Poetic Justice (1989)
Loved this storyline
Very well executed plot. The suspense and twists and turns made this episode a nail biter. The filming location for this episode, and the prior one of the fictional "Spring Lake" leant itself to the cat and mouse flavor of the three characters involved. Meanwhile, back in the cul-de-sac, Gary's plans to meet his female phone pal, "Sally's Friend" trudges on with some LOL moments, and Poor Val's insta-love for Danny Waleska is moving too fast. I feel she's going to get hurt yet again! No, Val No!! Karen's got a surprise coming her way as well. Maybe two surprises. This season is one of my favorites with the introduction of some new characters.
2000 Mules (2022)
A Must See
This documentary is an in-depth - your eyes don't lie in exposing just how corrupt this country's voting system has become - and how truly compromised our government is to foreign lobbyists, powerful elites, and cartels. I think it all started with the "hanging chads." So happy this was brought to light. Pay attention.
While Big Media will dismiss this as "fabricated nonsense," or a God-forbid "conspiracy theory." The producers of this film did their due diligence in recording the actual crimes committed. I recommend this superb documentary to anyone who still professes to have an open mind, politics aside.
Oh Baby (1998)
Wish This Show would have gone on longer!
This was a cute and unique comedy that I adored. I wish it would have lasted more seasons! A truly endearing situation. Too bad it didn't go to DVD! I would have loved to see how Tracy dealt with the "terrible twos!" Her mother was a scream! Very well cast.
The Conners (2018)
Cancel this Loser! It Stinketh!
This show is nothing without Roseanne! The now grown kids act like mannequins - they at least had personalities in the original series. The writing is horrible; the chemistry is gone, and I can only guess that it stumbles along to try and prove a point that the show can go on without the star. The sad truth is, it cannot.
Unwritten Obsession (2017)
Definitely a WINNER
Lifetime Movies have gotten really over-the-top for the last 10 years. Most of them are painful to watch. Unwritten Obsession was a pleasant and welcome departure from that I must say! The characters are well portrayed; the plot is not overdone; the writing is superb, and the directing was magnificent. I've re-watched it several times.
Burke's Law (1994)
Great Revival Attempt - Wish it had lasted.
As a child, I remember sitting with the folks and watching the original"Burke's Law" series in the 1960's. I recall being intrigued with the character's signature, "It's Burke's Law" witticisms each episode. Fast forward thirty years, and Gene Barry was every bit as dashing as before, and the witticisms were still pure entertainment.
Watching Amos Burke, now a widower with a grown super handsome son, Peter Burke, allowed the testosterone to flow nicely. I certainly enjoyed watching the show in color, and the story lines, while not always fresh, were certainly engaging. Guest appearances by some top notch actors and actresses kept the episodes fresh. Dom DeLuise in his recurring guest role was the cherry on top.
I truly believe the revival series could've last a couple of more seasons easily. It was a mid-season replacement, premiering on Friday,January 7, 1994, in the 9 p.m., also known as the "Friday Night Death Slot," so the series had two strikes against it going in.
