The people who are disappointed were expecting a reboot of the original 90210. If they had read ANYTHING about the show, they'd know that was never the plan.
The actors are playing caricatures of themselves, much like the show Episodes starring Matt LeBlanc. So in this reality they were all stars of the 90s show, but their lives apart from that are different.
The first episode was fun and I can't wait to see where they take it. The only disappointment is that they didn't spend much time talking about Luke Perry. They did acknowledge him, but I felt like there could have been more.
