My Girlfriend's Boyfriend (2010)
An Amazing Story Due to An Amazing Ending
Movies lose it's luster when they are deemed predictable and cliché, but this movie will take you through a number of emotional rollercoasters. If you are a fan of romantic comedies, you will simply love this movie.
The storyline is the same old thing; divorced woman looking for new love; needing to make a decision as to who her true love really is. But the way it's done in this movie is completely original.
The acting is great. Even if you don't have a previous obsession with Alyssa Milano, she will grab you from the beginning with her innocence and all the signs pointing to love deprivation.
As the movie goes on, you'll start feeling for her character, then for the other characters she engage with. You will feel ups and downs, may even start to think of Alyssa as distasteful, confused and cold-hearted. I guess that's the point of the movie; to send your emotions here and there; as your perception of the characters will frequently change. You'll end up at a cross-roads, as you try to push your own decisions and opinions; but once you get to the end, it will totally blow you away.
A heart warming and imaginative romantic comedy that I'd recommend for anyone; and it's even suitable for anyone teen and older. It's love, just like we imagined it; only better.
Saw 3D (2010)
As Disappointing As a Blind Date Gone Bad
I've been a devoted Saw fan since the beginning. I've watched every Saw movie at least 10 times and like so many other fans, I've enjoyed the majority of them. Saw V was as bad as it gets, but Saw VI was excellent; leading to high anticipation of Saw 3D. Overall, it was a disappointment.
I must say that in general, 3D movies are very cool. Unfortunately, Saw 3D really didn't take advantage. Seriously, I can't remember any good 3D effects; and believe me, I was waiting for it; I'm still waiting; can't believe I was left hanging like that.
From the beginning, the movie was a joke; seriously. You will find the first scene to be laughable. Unlike past movies from the series, which did a good job linking all the trap scenes, the first few traps of Saw 3D had no relation or connection to the storyline / plot. Saw 3D promotes murder and revenge rather than redemption and survival.
Overview: The story was boring. The gore was extremely intense, but only marginally innovative or original. Too predictable for my liking as all the supposed twists were easily guessed years ago.
------------- Start of Spoiler Section -------------
1. The first trap scene was humorous, but so unbelievably pointless. Does a girl really have to die because she was unfaithful to 2 guys?
2. Jill Tuck was so cool and collected throughout the first 6 Saw movies. I couldn't believe how she was running scared during Saw 3D. It was just so out of character for her and depreciates everything she stood for in the previous movies. And then she dies; but how does that make for good entertainment when she was the closest thing we had to Jigsaw.
3. Speaking of Jigsaw; where was he? We only saw him a couple of times in the movie and that's it. The movie was dominated by some very mediocre actors.
4. So many people who reviewed previous Saw movies predicted Dr. Gordon's involvement. It's been all over YouTube and other forums for years. You'd think the writers would be smart enough to adapt. I guess not.
5. Why are we left with so many questions? Who were the 2 accomplices helping out Dr. Gordon at the end? Why was Hoffman left alive at the end? Who the hell is Bobby Dagen and what makes him so significant that he must be the focus of the very last Saw? By the way, he was left alive too?
6. But the most disturbing point isn't the fact that Dr. Gordon's involvement was predictable. It's the fact that it was never explained as to why. Why does Dr. Gordon decide to work with Jigsaw? Remember, the motivation for Dr. Gordon to escape (by cutting off his foot) was to get home to his wife and kid. What happened to that? Why is there no explanation as to what happened to his family? Did they ever reunite? I wanted to see a good scene (like the scene where Jigsaw convinced Hoffman to join his team). Did Dr. Gordon fight to ensure his family was well kept?
7. The first 4 movies would lead you to think that the time-line between each was days / weeks rather than months or years. But at the end of Saw 3D, when Jigsaw was announcing Dr. Gordon as his best accomplice, he says that Dr. Gordon has helped him through his best traps for years. Could this type of serial homicide realistically go on for years without the authorities finally putting things together?
------------- End of Spoiler Section-------------
Is it worth the money? I'd say yes if you are a true Saw fan. This isn't something you'd want to miss; simply because it could be the very last one and once again; 3D movies are very cool. Just know that you will leave with the same feeling you had after watching Saw V.
End Game (2009)
As Bad As It Gets
This movie is as bad as it gets. End Game was a waste of everyone's time, including the actors, the directors and the unfortunate viewers. Every actor / actress was horrible and the storyline was non-existent.
Watching the movie was laughable; it actually turned into a comedy when it wasn't meant to be. The acting and the lines were just that horrible that I burst into laughter a couple of times.
There was this part of the movie where the cop came home after the continuing investigation of a series of murders. His wife is already well aware of the suspected murderer and has witnessed the cop being harassed by phone calls to their home. As he lied in bed with his wife, the suspected murderer calls his house phone. He picks up and after a brief conversation (meant to be a scare / taunt tactic), the cop's wife says, "Well, he seems like a very decent guy." Cop responds, "Decent? How do you know?" She answers, "Well, he called a few times when you weren't home." Cop replies, "So, you talked to him?" She answers, "Yeah, he seems nice." I'm left thinking to myself, wow, this is classic. It was hilarious.
Don't watch this movie. You may not even find humor in how horrible it is.
Dimples (2008)
Nothing Cute About These Dimples
Some comments left by Knatreesha_21 could have been enough to inform you about the overall lack of quality you'd find watching this movie, but this movie was so bad, I felt the need to reiterate just how bad it really was. So, how bad was it? For one, and as mentioned, the acting was absolutely horrible. None of the characters portrayed anyone that would actually exist. The dialogue was boring, senseless and predictable. There was some acting that was actually so bad, it made you laugh; and this wasn't even considered a comedy. From the start of the movie, nothing made sense. 30 minutes into the movie, you are still wondering why nothing relevant has happened and where the story is going. It was as if they were trying to mix American Pie with some cheesy horror flick. You watch, only with hopes that something would be revealed; but by the time the movie ends, you realize that you lost an hour and a half of your precious life that you can't get back. It's a painful feeling, the realization that you actually sat there and watched the entire thing. It actually upset me so much, I went straight to bed; even though I had a few other movies lined up. So, how bad was it? I wasn't even registered on this site until today. I felt the need to register to let everyone know just how bad this movie is. So, how bad was it? It's called Dimples but there is no reference to dimples other than a stupid teenage scene where a boyfriend is doing a video of him and his girlfriend being together. The dialogue goes like this, Boy: "Let's call this video Dimples." Girl: "But I don't have any dimples." Yep, that's it. Nothing more. So, really, how bad was it? Trust me.... you don't want to find out for yourself.
