The Girl in Lovers Lane (1960)
No Gay/ Homosexual Subtext Here
In reading the other reviews and/or remarks, I have to disagree with any references with regard to both male characters or one male character referenced as being gay. That is so ridiculous. The more accurate relationship between the two males, rather should be seen as older big brother and younger naive brother. Bix, like any older brother looks out and protects a younger less worldly brother. In addition, I think that Bix is afraid of making a commitment to Carrie, because he's never allowed himself to be close to a woman in a relationship, and now because he's starting to feel something for Carrie, he's fearful and ready to run. Now, with regard to the story's resolution (Act III), Carrie just suddenly screaming just made no real sense.
Losing Lerato (2019)
Which Movie Title Is It?
I found the film on Tubi. I really enjoyed it as a heart-string drama. However, it seems that this film has two apparent titles. On Tubi, the film is entitled 'Desperate Love,' however, in conducting further research, here on IMDB the title is 'Losing Lerato.' Therefore, which is the correct title? I enjoyed the storyline, story setup and the plot-point which makeup Act 1. I also enjoyed Act II as the drama increased and as the stakes elevated. I also enjoyed Act III as the story resolution. The main idea of the story is "be careful who you sleep with and later marry." Lastly, I enjoyed each character and especially the bond between the father and his adolescent daughter. I also was happy that the ending contained reunification of the father and his now adult daughter.
Tina and Lori (2021)
Tina and Lori Job Well Done
The film was very well dramatized from the perspective of two teenage characters. The story's inciting incident and act one plot point were on time, and the second act brought the full tension and conflict, and the second plot point made a smooth transition into the resolution. Act three, tied up the loose ends as the story resolved itself perfectly. The Writer/ director in my opinion did an outstanding job, as did the two main lead female character actors. Also in case you missed it...hint remember the class project. Excellent film never boring. I hope more people will see this film and that it will receive more attention domestically and internationally. Thumbs Up for Tina and Lori!
Who's Watching the Kids (2012)
Not Worth Watching
My family and I just had the opportunity this past Friday night, to rent and view this movie "Who's Watching the Kids." Sadly, this movie was simply NOT worth watching at all. The storyline and script seriously lacked continuity, not to mention, that the beginning, middle and ending of the story really made no sense whatsoever. We were hoping that our family, would have been able to enjoy a 'family-oriented' film, however, what a real major disappointment.
The only reason that we laughed, was due to the terrible script, acting and directing. Yes, even though a couple of well-known talented names appeared, this movie was a 'dead-before-arrival' project from start to finish. In addition, the theme was really never established, in other words...WHAT WAS THIS MOVIE ABOUT?!
Lastly, we were curious about what the production was...are you kidding me $1 million plus, for this?! Surely, this has to be a misprint. Talk about throwing good money after bad product, this was the perfect example, of 'HOW-NOT-TO-MAKE-A-MOVIE.'
