A Perfect World (1993)
Clint Eastwood directs at his best
Very few directors have the talent Clint Eastwood has for making intense movies with greater depth. In this movie, Clint is no exception and he stars multiple characters in this movie, while repeatedly crossing the lines between good and bad.
In various parts of the movie, Butch (Kevin Costner) is depicted as the adoptive father and role model of the kid he has kidnapped, and they bond like a family, and he becomes like the father the kid never had and allows the kid to do all the stuff his controlling mother would not let him do. The butch character sells the movie and having Clint Eastwood on the manhunt gives us a great feature.
On the other hand, we are led into the facts that some of the police and feds who are pursuing this man are in fact closer to thugs than the person they are pursuing. Clint Eastwood makes no distinctions of good and evil and continuously develops the characters throughout the movie in order to give a more emotionally invoking movie.
Snakes on a Plane (2006)
It is a stupid stupid movie not even worth watching
A convict puts snakes onto a plane to kill the witness flying to LA to testify. The dialogue is weak, the villains are Chinese (a growing trend in many modern movies), and everything is over stereotyped. Even worse, Samuel L Jackson cannot salvage the movie and keep it from becoming a waste of time to make.
If i want to see people eaten by snakes ill watch anaconda, i do not need to see fake looking injuries and all kinds of "hollywood" stunts that could never happen in real life
As for the characters, most are forgettable and there is clearly a lack of depth and the lines used are totally forgettable. In the end I believe this movie will leave you wishing you rented something else because its just not worth your money. The special effects are extremely weak and the entire movie is just stupid.
Gran Torino (2008)
One of the best movies made recently
There are numerous movies that come through theaters, but few have the quality of Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood brings a tremendous amount of depth and substance into this movie as he transforms from being a racist bigot who hates his Hmong neighbors to accepting them as his new family. Like a lot of Clint Eastwood movies, this movie is very heavy and deep. We do not have formulated and stereotypical roles like most movies, but a more artistic and brilliantly put together storyline.
After watching this movie, one begins to develop different feelings for all of the characters as they become developed more, and the movie never falls into nameless stereotyping or formulated action/adventure clichés that all of the other films have.
King of the Hill: Death and Texas (1999)
This has some great moments
Peggy hill is suddenly contacted by a fradulant sociopath who is currently on the states death row, posing as a former student to see if she can help smuggled drugs into him and Peggy Hill mistakenly agrees to help him, as she is tricked into believing that this lowlife used to be one of her students.
The convict is very objective and manipulative and it is clear that Peggy is becoming more and more involved in this "exploitative" relationship. One day, the convict tells her that he does not know how to read and asks her if she can go to his old house to get a boggle set. She brings him three sets, each time bringing a bigger and bigger hour glass that is filled with cocaine, and later on the convict notifies her that she is smuggling him drugs and begins to make demands.
Hank Hill is great in this episode and he clearly plays the right side, trying to restrict Peggy from getting herself involved in such an abusive and exploitative relationship with such a sociopath. When she refuses, the convict calls the house threatening to turn her into the state and hank picks up the phone, makes it very clear that he is not to bother the house.
One of the best things about this episode is you have a very clever conman who will go to any dirty means to get what he wants and then you have hank hill, a guy who means well but does not always have the brains or ability to win. When hank threatens the inmate on the phone, he is reminded of the charges Peggy will face if she is found guilty.
This overall is a better king of the hill show and really depicts the dangers of having prison pen pals, hooking up with death row inmates and the overall dangers of dealing with the wrong people. Because of this I think this is one of the better episodes
South Park: The Passion of the Jew (2004)
One of the best south park episodes
The passion of the Jew really depicts the anti Semitic and ignorant views that many Christians take in their depiction of the Crucifixion of Jesus.
The entire population in south park becomes obsessed on this movie as it goes to theater, and as the movie goes on there are numerous depictions of Jewish people yelling at Jesus and ordering his crucification to the point that everyone who watches it believes they must hate Jews to be a better Christian for all of the pain Jesus went through.
Unfortunately, kyle is caught in the middle of this and becomes the target of cartman and most of south parks population because of the anti semitic propaganda in the movie. Like many shows, kyle is the underdog who everyone is ganging up on, and becomes one of the most hated people in south park since hes Jewish.
Meanwhile, Eric Cartman watches the movie and becomes a huge fan. He is fat, ignorant, lazy and uninformed about anything and he rounds a group of people who mistakenly believe they are going to a Christian support group into becoming Nazis. He is chanting Nazi terms, making numerous references to the holocaust and these stupid people follow him around without knowing what he is talking about doing.
This overall depicts the bigotry many Jewish people go through and the way many people are too ignorant and stupid to know whats going on about some issues. Because this episode is more intense and factual, it is one of the better south park episodes.
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
The end of the world romero style
As for zombie movies go, dawn of the dead 2004 is really on top of its game. MOst disaster movies will have a tremendous amount of action to keep you entertained, but dawn of the dead explores where other movies stop. In this movie, we clearly see people fighting to survive against a never ending army, becoming stranded in a shopping mall and society collapses. They hear no news, they are surrounded by death and this entire outbreak and they have to deal with each other.
One good aspect out of this movie was the fact when they arrived at the mall and got in, the head security guard quickly was NOT going to allow them to stay and then insisted on locking them up. He seemed like a bully and was quick to pull out his gun and threaten people, and was definitely not your favorite character, but he quickly improved as the movie went on, and he was out there to survive. On the other hand there were "passive" and nonviolent people in this movie who were less adept at handling these situations. At the same time, there were lowlifes they had to deal with (a snotty worthless survivor who always talked trash to everyone and then became NO help when everyone counted on him). Then there was a nurse, and a few normal people who were just trying to survive and they were the real survivors. One survivor had an infected wife and became irrational and tried to keep her at the mall depsite the danger.
The general message was that the people who are quick to action and stay strong survive and those who wimp out die. However, the deeper message was that the people eventually decided to leave the mall (freaking out about being trapped there), and they go through the town only to find that they are the ONLY survivors and that the roads are virtually unpasassible and ultimately resulting in their demise.
At the end of the movie it seems to be NO clear answer and ALL of the place is infected and its basically the end of the world as there seem to be NO survivors and the entire population and all armies have succombed.
Search for the Snow Leopard (1999)
search for a snow leapord and a great journey
definitely a masterpiece its totally mystical and i LOVE the entire movie from beginning to end some of the acting is kinda cheesy but the entire scenes are well worth watching and the cast is GREAT and VERY few flicks have this type of ability and passion like this movie has and its totally on my top 10 list with new wave hookers, shock, son doobie love doctor, night trips, conquest and natural porn thillas i would definitely say the scenes are VERY well made and better than many of the typical garbage flicks and there really is a cast that truly works to their best and makes history in this movie i could watch it over and over again and ONLY fastforward through the acting.
asia carrera also has a romance and its a real passion one where she is conflicted by her father and the guy playing this dude is also good, and as for this romance its TOTALLY anticipated throughout the entire movie and the scene is brilliant and the guy playing it is nobody anyone would recognize which makes this movie more alive than MOSt of the low budget forgettable grinders, and the movie actually has some real emotion and feeling which is often lacking in much of the misogynistic sexist nature of our modern porn
i have to say that this movie by far is the best flick
