The Road Trick (2017– )

Magic is only the subtext of this adventure
2 July 2018
I had to binge watch all 10 episodes once I saw the first one. One thinks its a show about magic. Its really a show about Adam's self discovery in worlds he does not know well. I hope he'll take more adventures . . . Asia maybe?

True story of our government's war against the West, killing and imprisoning our own citizens
22 September 2017
This is a must see for all proud Americans. The true story of how bureaucrats and regulatory agencies take over private property and are ready to kill and imprison our citizens. About the incident of the Bundy family in Nevada and the government murder of peaceful protesters in the Oregon stand-off.

Plots were real
11 March 2012
Most of the plots of the show actually happened to the target audience of the time -30 somethings. That's what made this show great. For me it was school walk out to protest the Viet Nam war. I remember thinking when I first watched that episode, did the writers go to Oak Crest Jr. High in Encinitas with me in 1969? Because that's exactly the way it happened. I think of that episode daily when I drop my son off at the same school. I see that courtyard where we all walked out to, and remember the strife of the teachers talking, should we, or shouldn't we allow this to happen, and just like the show, the one or two teachers that joined in, were the ones we thought were cool.

Hell's Heroes (1929)
Historic town of Bodie
14 September 2011
I viewed this film as a historical piece on locations. It is footage of the town of the old mining town of Bodie, pre-fire which destroyed 90% of the remaining town in 1933. It is now a state park and the official ghost town of Calif. Having visited several times, it was amazing to see actual businesses and buildings that no longer stand. And the ones that do - 80 years later. The church that is seen in several of the exteriors is still there today, but none of the buildings seen between it and the main street exist. This would have been, in 1929, a long way to travel for a location shot with crew and equipment. I'm glad they did.

Three Bad Men (2005)
low budget cowboy
5 December 2009
Just learned recently that I know some of the co-stars of this film, and one of the co-producers, I rented it for the first time. Of course its bad compared to Open Range or 3:10 to Yuma, that have big budgets, big stars, and big distribution backing. But the fact that the producers got the bucks together to shoot a cowboy picture in 2005 with no green screen or CGI, no big stars, no studio back lot, is pretty amazing. Even though it was tough to watch entirely without fast forwarding, fans of the genre should sit down and enjoy it for what it is, a low budget cowboy picture. You won't see to many more good guy/bad guy westerns in the future.
