Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): Whoever Heard of a Ghost Dying? (1969)
Annette Andre v Alexandra Bastedo
This is another fabulous episode for many reasons. The wit and humour of our 'dynamic duo' is in full throttle, as Marty is threatened with the possibility of being invisible to Jeff for good. Hopkirk actually looks ill in several scenes, but eventually Jeff comes to his rescue at his own exorcism. The episode is also memorable for the cat fight between Annette Andre (Jeannie),and Alexandra Bastedo (Carol Latimer) in the final graveyard scene. 'Good girl, Jeannie' shouts Marty, as she gets the better of the evil Carol and holds her for the police to arrest. So many great actors have appeared in individual episodes of Randall and Hopkirk, and have then gone on to star in other not so memorable TV series. Bastedo was an exception of course. She was one of the Champions too!
Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): It's Supposed to Be Thicker Than Water (1970)
Another excellent episode of Randall and Hopkirk!
Great acting, and a good storyline in which Randall decides to go solo, and wants Marty to disappear, but of course the ghost comes to his rescue (again), and he thwarts the devious Hodder and his boss (brilliant characters from the old school acting brigade)in their dastardly plot. Why the police weren't involved earlier is a valid question, but it would have spoilt the fun! Nice to see Liz Fraser guest starring in this episode, in which the lovely Annette Andre plays only a small part. The interesting aspect of Randall and Hopkirk is how many stars who appear went on to star in other shows. So pleased that ITV4 are repeating this great series again!
