Saying that this lived up to the book- is the best review I can give it. Because the book was the most 'intense' book I've still ever read. Movie was every bit as thrilling. Don't know why this isn't much much bigger.

If you are a thin skinned Karen- this movie isn't for you.
It better than any film I've seen- shows the real wonders of the Christian faith. In all their twisted glory.
If you don't have a sense of humor about religion then skip this film. Your heart will thank you.
But if you do have a sense of humor in this area- then I can guarantee you'll laugh thru the entire film.
Kevin Smith at his absolute best. Not to mention Afleck Damon and George Carlin.

Russian portrayal

I'm writing in response to all of the negative comments about this movie casting Russia so badly.
Having spent time in Russia- actually during the cold war- whiler in the US Army with the MOS 35L/M if you know what that is.
But I didn't see any glaring misconceptions about Russia- it's people and even surnames as one reviewer noted.
Come on people this is Hollywood ffs.
The bottom line is that either time I've seen this not one thing has jumped out at me about how Russia and it's citizens were portrayed.
