Generation Um... (2012)
obscene waste of time and money
first of all i wish to say there is something hokey going on with these Russian reviews, Russians generally write some of the best most insightful reviews, this is about drugs, but its not drugstore cowboy or any of the other fascinating films, that captured the drug world. you have attractive women made unattractive, yes that's appealing to who. mr reeves well he is exactly like he is in every movie he has ever made, the same. if you want to watch a movie made with a $500 sony camera my suggestion is make a movie yourself, there is the usually wondering aimlessly around looking for the meaning in life, continue making tripe like this and soon there will be no Hollywood
On the Ice (2011)
wonderful
contains some of the best acting i have seen in 40 years bar none, some of the scenes the fear and anguish is palpable. this is a must see movie,This is done with non-professionals, its amazing. Hollywood should be in fear of the skill and naturalness of this presentation. The dialogue is perfect there is not a phony or contrived scene in the movie my hats off to the director and the talent coordinator to find the gems who are in this film. Set in the frozen north, its a dismal landcape to say the least. How long could I last in this land is something that was in the back of my mind the whole time. This is not a place for the faint of heart. You make the smallest mistake up here and your dead. You find out this when the young teenagers are discussing where to hunt. You leave this film with a new perspective on your own life
Wasted on the Young (2010)
don't bother unless you habla Aussie
could not figure out the the other ratings until i saw that they were from Australia, could understand 20 percent at best. How this gets by the people that made and market the film is mind boggling. Sub titles are needed here sadly, these people do not speaka the English. It is way worse then cockney English which you could possibly learn to follow. We are separated from Australians by a common lanquage. I am not a linguist so i am not sure what they are doing when they speak, its a combination of rapidity and the clipping of words, speaks slower and enunciate You can understand older Aussie films, so this is definitely something new, The film had a pricey budget so this is a error of the first degree. This is hubris, well i am stunned
Photographic Memory (2011)
dull at best and frustrating because of potential
we are presented with a father son relationship, within 2 minutes you wish to throttle the son, 3 more the father. the son is a self-entitled ne'er do well, the father sees the son as extremely talented but has done nothing so far to prove it. and of course the father blames himself, for all the wrong reasons. The son would like to live in a penthouse and have a helicopter, he is 21 mind you. this is what 8 year olds say, the son has 20,000 worth of electronics and is whining about the car he drives, he has no job it appears, pays no rent of course. If this film does anything it does show everything that is wrong with America. no ultimatums given concerning work or school, the reason i was attracted to the movie was i was in France driving a vw about the same time he was there, this is the second part of the movie, he feels if he goes back in time he will understand why his son is a jerk, because that is what he is, why, because he can be, whose fault dads, the dad who didn't put consequences on bad behavior. this is why we have 40 year old men living with there mothers by the millions mind you, the chance of these kids competing with third world kids coming here, its laughable, there is old romance thats brought up nothing interesting there, he has a disconnected narrating style, as if he is on seroquel.
God Bless America (2011)
really great
where to start, in a world in which nearly everything you see or hear makes you throw up in your mouth we have the Charles Bronson solution to the problem, about time, whether its the kardasians or Maury povich or you can go on and on, i truly do not watch TV, not out of some elitist ideal but the fact it truly makes me ill. god bless netflix, some PBS and internet archive, i have not watched TV for over an hour in the last 11years we have become an obscenely fat, foul mouth, disgusting self indulgent group of people, the place where, as Marlo Thomas said, free to be you and me, no mater how repulsive it may be to the the people around you, my personal laundry list of oxygen thieves would fill the grand canyon, i think the one where the kid admits he has impregnated 64 girls a third has aids all on welfare but man thats cool do not be an old fuddy duddy for sure we are at the end times, not for any moral reasons but for the simple economic logic that this cannot be supported by the 10 percent of the population that works, go to ant social security office its 90 percent under 40 in there
Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008)
justice
this a love story and an indictment of the Canadian justice system, the later being shocking beyond belief, the people in charge killed that little baby, i have a interesting story that relates to this, i was in Jamaica with a huge group of canadians and there was a Jamaican who mentioned could you really go to canada and collect 1200 dollars a month and they said it was closer to 2400, there was a jamican who had gotten 62 women pregnant and was collecting over 10,000 a month, they know of this around the world that there is nothing dumber than a white person, the canadians love there rapists, child molester, drug addicts and murderers wake up you fools why you still have a chance, this film highlights a group of killers of a baby, the Canadian government, will they go to jail no, there was a time when this was unheard of, this is a warning to the world when pc runs amok it is worse than stalin
Un amour de jeunesse (2011)
bad
i love french cinema this is a horrible example, you can take nothing away from it but your lost time, the young couple are attractive the guy is a deadbeat she refuses to accept it, she a architect, very unplausible dialogue makes no sense written on a 12 yo level bright people don't accept abuse or mistreatment more than once i don't care how big there parts are there money or there looks, the people that do either want abuse or are not too bright i guess french cinema is dumbing down now, this is been made by someone who did not listen in class, there reason i like movies from France is they don't fob off a load of crap like this. this is for the french people that thought jerry lewis was funny
