The Holdovers (2023)
valuable lessons
This is a very good movie, the kind that makes us all remember about morals, integrity and character. This type of movie remembers me of Scent of a Woman, perhaps to the similarity towards forming good character in young people. Never saw any of the young actors before, but they really did a good job, even with secondary roles... the story is very heart touching, taking you straight to the '70s. The Chameleon Teacher did a great play, although it was funny to think about, it was always there, taunting you to ask... nice touch in the end. Overall, I wish more movies like this come to life...A+ to everyone.
Miley Cyrus: Used to Be Young (2023)
love the piano
The song is a contemplation of her younger days, characterized by a fast-paced lifestyle and experiences that she now views from a different perspective. The lyrics, as Miley Cyrus herself described, were written as a way to paint a sonic picture of her perspective, acknowledging and accepting her past while also appreciating the growth and changes that have occurred since then. The song speaks to the transformation and maturation that comes with time, embracing changes while also reminiscing about the past. The stripped-back pop ballad style allows for an introspective look into her journey from her wilder younger days to her current self, reflecting a sense of pride in her evolution and a hopeful outlook towards the future.
Boss (2023)
BREAKING NEWS: It's a very good movie!
Judging by the title and the fact that I was unfamiliar with the actor on the movie cover, I initially thought this was either a Hollywood or a British movie. However, the first scene instantly made me realize it's a Romanian film. Despite being quite disappointed about what I had missed in the past years, this movie truly stood out. The acting was very good, with flawless performances from every actor. I'm glad I watched it; I was immersed until the end without taking a break. The movie also reminded me somewhat of Guy Ritchie's style... there's always that 'lock, stock and two smoking barrels' element behind the curtain.
Spiderhead (2022)
interesting perspective of human trials instead of jail
Dear people, please stop bringing forward the negative thoughts about the movie. I believe it is a solid 7 because acting was good and the plot perspective is very interesting. I've seen movies like this, and the real thing is that they aren't easy to digest. Some of you out there might expect more of this and more of that, but I believe the essence of the message got contoured enough. Most of you out there might build up a bigger thrill giving the location and the actors, but when you finish watching it, it might become more confusing. Truth is, things end as they end, mad scientists are always mad scientists even if they are attractive or not, or try to make the world either a good or a bad place, and the other characters are just collateral. We all have drama in us, let's just learn from it to become better. Enjoy the movie!
Genius (2016)
Genius, Tom Wolfe...
Genius, Tom Wolfe... never had time to spend with himself. Only with people surrounding him, and characters, that formed his profound way of thinking about every word of life, love and family. These might not be the exact words to describe the truth within the eyes of the character, but the film made the best.
