Not Sure At First

As someone who read the books while still at school over 40 years ago I was dreading an updated vision.

My initial reaction was spectacular but worried.

Yes, knowing the story helped but this is fantastic. The feeling of the books is intact and by the end of the first episode you are drawn in. If you have any doubts stick with it and I hope that we will be rewarded.

I was looking for a new favourite serial.

To let you know the level of my desires I have enjoyed in no special order:

The Waltons Dallas Dawsons Creek Gilmore Girls

Thus you can tell the level of my mental acuity.

Boy was I surprised. This could so easily have turned into another cold mechanical drama but in my opinion a heart may be beating inside this story. With the brutal cancellation of anything that does not gain instant success it is good to see that sad old gits like myself can still find shows to enjoy and savour
