Percy Jackson and the Olympians: I Plunge to My Death (2024)
Episode was too short!
I'm so glad they made this into a series. They are doing a fantastic job but 33 minutes? That is not enough time with these characters and this story. I need more! I do hope they are planning to do more than this one book because these kids are incredible and perfectly cast. I look forward to all the adventures they will have together.
I'm not sure why it won't let me post a review that is this short so I'm going to just keep writing until they say I can post something about this show, it's wonderful cast and this fantastic story. I am waiting for Disney to green light season two. Please please.
Gotham Knights: Pilot (2023)
A big step up for the CW.
I am shocked how impressed I am with this show. You can think I'm biased since I've watched a bunch of shows on the CW. But I watched most of those for campy fun with a low bar and therefore gave them mediocre ratings. This show is on another level. The production value was way better than anything else I've seen on this network. The story got me interested and acting was actually really good. Even for a pilot it's clear the pulled out all the stops and went for it. They hit a home run here. So my rating is against all other CW shows. This one is definitely a 10. Give it a chance. It's worth a shot, no lie.
Our Flag Means Death: This Is Happening (2022)
Best yet
This episode clinched it for me. Laughed out loud multiple time. The timing, the writing, the crazy, it all works. I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of what they do. Hoping for another season.
Roadfood: Detroit, MI (2022)
Detroit doesn't stop
What a wonderful episode. So amazing to hear about all the efforts to help with food equity among the people of Detroit. Make me want to start my own garden and help others that way. My only complaint is the interviews are too short! I want to know more about those people.
Roadfood: Barberton, OH (2022)
Community pride
This was hard to see. Barberton is a desolate place if you look quickly. Empty businesses, abandoned buildings. But the thing that makes this show work is that they find the good, the hope and the way the community sticks together. It's uplifting and I love to watch.
Roadfood: Brownsville, TX (2021)
Connections not divisions
Such a great episode! Great food and sensitive subjects were shown but it was the connections made that make me come back. Telling the stories of people, building empathy and sympathy for your fellow human. This is what it's all about.
Roadfood: Chicago, IL (2021)
A real taste of Chicago
I've spent a lot of time in Chicago but didn't realize all the things I was missing. This show's ability to find the little places with the great stories is worth the watch. People open up to the host and you can tell he genuinely cares. It's got heart.
Roadfood: Rhode Island (2021)
Dinner with mom
The stories told and the food shared on this show make it so worth the watch. Having the host's mother come on and share stories and bake a horrible birthday cake was so real. It wasn't perfect but it showed the love and care we should all give to each other.
Roadfood: Little Dominican Republic, NY (2021)
Worth the stop
I've driven through this area of NY multiple times but never stopped. I can't believe what I was missing. Thank you to the restaurant owner who are trying to keep their communities going in the pandemic and to the cast and crew of RoadFood for telling their stories.
Roadfood: Houston, TX (2021)
Great start
What a great start to this series. It's so important that we hear the stories of others so we can connect. I applaud this crew for seeking out the people who make a difference in the lives of others. Can't wait for the next episode!
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Did the writers NEVER watch the show?
The fact that you can watch the first episode and this last episode and it be seemless is beyond ridiculous. 15 years of character development just to see them end up the way they thought they would in the beginning. Flushed 15 years down the toilet. Ugh.
