Christmas Takes Flight (2021)
No
This is awful. The female character's family has some legitimately bad practices at their company they just sold to the male character. We are supposed to side with the female character because he is taking all the joy out of their not very profitable family business. She is annoying and he is a stick in the mud. It's awful. I just wanted them both to disappear from my screen. I couldn't make it past the first 30 minutes and I love these cheesy types of movies. Incredibly formulaic but annoying and dull.
It's so awful I am struggling to get to the minimum word count for this review.
The Christmas decorations are on point though.
Lift Me Up (2015)
Not good
All kinds of stereotypes and cliché nonsense if it wasn't for the flat out ridiculous. Slow and boring. I wanted to give up but wanted to see how they pulled it together.
Not Since You (2009)
Zzzzz
Most of the actors are about 10 years older in real life than their characters. This was boring. You can predict what the characters are going to say before they say it.
Home for Harvest (2019)
Painful
Bad acting as everyone said and the main female character is not a likable snob and doesn't come across as high end like she is supposed to.
Christmas Everlasting (2018)
Zzzzzzzz
Such a snooze. I turned it off half way through. I applaud the successful lead Black people, but they look like they landed in whiteville. I expect cheese from Hallmark but this was painful.
Christmas at the Plaza (2019)
Ugh
The lead character is unlikable. I wanted to turn in off 10 minutes in. She can't figure it out so she quits? Lame.
Santa Girl (2019)
Awful
I am 10 minutes in. The characters are jerks and unlikable. I turned it off.
Wish I Was Here (2014)
Boring
It wasn't horrible. It was just boring and unbelievable. How do they afford to live? Why are they together? So many unfunny moments. I have no idea why people watched this.
The Last Song (2010)
It was okay
I never expect that reading a book and watching a movie will tell me the same story, so I never do both. And according to other reviews, the book and the movie do not correspond with each other. If you read the "trivia" for this movie, I believe it indicates that the movie was written first for Miley. However, either way, you have to keep in mind that you have to set a time limit for movies so you will not get as much in a movie as you do in a book.
I watched this movie on Netflix and chose it because I like Miley. I think she is cute and interesting. It wasn't a bad movie, I was just confused about a few things such as why were they sent to live with their Dad. It didn't seem like he had seen them in a while. The shoplifting thing seemed thrown in there as if that was supposed to answer some sort of question. Overall, I liked the characters. As with most Nicholas Sparks books/movies, you know what the "sad part" is going to be. Overall it was predictable but I was just looking for a story where I didn't have to think too much and this fit the bill. I liked watching the relationship between Miley and the blond haired guy.
Overall I gave it 6 out of 10. Not a cinematic masterpiece but not crap on a stick either.
