Phantom (2013)
Wish I saw the whole film
I wasn't able to sit thru the whole movie in one sitting and alas the password changed before I could get back to view it. But I have to say that from what I saw it was a very well planned/designed/produced movie. The movie materials from their web site and other things presented gave me a very interesting perspective on a movie that doesn't have dialogue - as in the mouths are moving to the sound -- everything is off-camera. I haven't thought of that idea for doing a movie. If ever it comes along for viewing publicly (or the film owners would like my review of the second half and can get me a new password) I'd like to see it thru to the end. Thanks for inviting me to view the preview.

How can kids live alone and nobody notice?
I watched this movie in 2005 on the flight to Osaka. I couldn't believe the story. I couldn't believe that this could ever happen in Japan where children's lives are controlled every minute by teachers. When I got access to Google and checked out the story I couldn't believe this movie story was based on a real life situation. The young lead actor is beautiful, his skills in this story belie what he could do (hope he gets more movie opportunities). The story needs this kind of lead role. Sadly I found the other kids' acting to be basic -- but the story really relies on the lead actor. He needs an Oscar or some award for his work in this movie. Watch this movie. But be sure you are not distracted, watch it from beginning to end. You will be crying at the end. But not necessarily crying from sadness but from pleasure that the kids finally have their act together. But also sadness because they still have a long way to go.

Loving Caring Relationships -- even in Japan
I've watched this movie several times but last night I watched it again and I just have to say something about it. This is not your normal gay movie with a lot of gratuitous sex scenes, nor is this a gay movie about AIDS, nor does the plot have anything to do with someone being sick. This is a story about how two fine looking young Japanese men meet up, have a relationship and start a life together. The families of these two men are screwed up, like too many are in life, but these two keep on going. Then just to make it even more interesting, two women come into the middle of these two men's lives. One becomes like a third partner (she wants a baby from them) and the other has a typical young girl infatuation. What really caught my attention was how both these guys do things together at home and outside the home. They care about each other, know each other, and do spontaneous things together. I think we could all learn about relationships from watching these two guys interact together. Love the story.
