The Girl in the Café (2005 TV Movie)

I really dug this movie, I thought the acting and writing were dead on. The two leads and the way their relationship develops were very believable, that's what struck me the most. I found it a little jarring how the movie kind of switches gears from being a love story to a morality/ global politics story, almost like it was half one and half the other. I definitely felt the love story aspect was more compelling, although I think the intention of the writer was the opposite. I have to admit that at the end I was much more concerned about what would happen with Lawrence and Gina than what would happen in the conference. Ironic that I responded more to the story of two individuals than to the plight of thousands of dying children. Probably because of what Gina said about the statistics seeming real, that you would need images to really appeal to people's emotions. Anyway I'd recommend it to anyone, regardless of how you feel about global politics or any of that.

Action packed, well worth seeing

I have to admit this movie was better than I thought it might be. Johnny Depp is of course a great actor, and in this movie he displays once again his extraordinary ability to develop a unique and memorable on-screen persona in any movie in which he appears. This ability is made even more incredible by the staggering contrast between his real-life self and the characters he plays. Orlando Bloom has fewer lines than you might expect, but he does a good job with what's given to him. Overall this movie is not heavy on plot or on character development, but as an action movie about pirates it is as good or better than one can reasonably expect it to be. It may not be one of the best films ever made, but it is certainly good entertainment for your ticket money.

Tenacious D (1997–2000)
this show is awesome

i've seen this series and i must say that it is absolutely brilliant. the music is great, the characters are hilarious and jack black is just the funniest man alive. if you own or have heard any of tenacious d's album you should definitely watch the show; it will really make you have a greater appreciation for the D, as many of the songs on that album were featured, in early versions without bass or drums, on this show. so basically if you havent seen this show try to find someone who has a copy of it on tape (try ebay) and if you dont have the album then buy it. if you havent experienced the D then you simply have not lived!
