Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007)
Ben Browder? Since when?
15 July 2005
I am a huge Farscape fan. I also enjoy SG1 but I have only seen the entire first season in order, the rest I have just seen a few eps of here and there. On sci-fi today I saw a preview for the new season (or premiere) of SG1 on sci-fi that showed Ben Browder - he said something to the effect of "I've been through the frontline like you wouldn't believe" and then the announcer said "With new allies" and I swear that it showed Claudia Black briefly...so my first thought was, are they somehow trying to cross the story lines of Farscape and SG1? I came here to double check for sure, and they have him listed but of course his character name is Cameron Mitchell and not John Chriton.

First of all, did I really see Claudia Black or was that incorrect? She wasn't on there but for a second so it was hard to tell.

And secondly, does anyone know for sure if they are or are not trying to cross the stories? (And if so, WHY! I mean I like both shows and all, but if they try to mix it...yikes!)

Wish I knew
24 March 2004
I wish I knew the answers to your questions Jordan-15 - I came here seeking them too, since I caught the program on TV re-runs this AM (Wed 3/24/04)...

IMDB says I need to put 10 lines in here before I can comment on it. I think that is crazy since I've already said everything I wanted to...

The Nanny (1993–1999)
Spinoffs of "The Nanny?
22 January 2004
Does anyone know if there ever was (or were intended) to be any spinoffs from "The Nanny"? The only reason I ask is that just the other day on Lifetime there was an episode where Fran got this girl she met hired on at a beaty parlor (Antonio's or something) and almost the ENTIRE episode was just the people of the beauty shop and hardly any of the regular cast. (sub plot in this episode was that after Fran got the girl hired, she found out her mother had applied too). But the way the episode was setup made me think they had intended to spin this show off on its own. (If they did, I don't know the name)...but the characters working in this beauty shop were an oriental woman with a slight accent, a gay man, the owner (Antonio or whatever) who seemed kinda like a "ladies man" who sang old songs to the women as he dressed their hair, his 13 year old son (who was used to being beat up due to the fact that they lived in Brooklyn and his father owned a beaty shop) and the newly hired, energetic, eager to please aspiring actress, who in this particular episode helped the owner give up feelings of anger toward his ex-wife who ran out on him and his son once she helped him realize how his anger was affecting his son.

Seems like an AWFUL lot of setup for just one episode of "The Nanny" unless they'd intended it as some type of spin-off and maybe used that episode of "The Nanny" to test and see how it all went.

I'm curious to know if others thought it looked like an attempt at another sitcom or if someone had some actual facts or links to other sites that would give more detail.

Thanks in advance!

A truly great love story
27 December 2003
I was surprised to see that only one user commented on this.

I wanted to add (for those that had never seen it) that it is a "love story" with an undead twist... I love movies that don't have a "happy ending" and this would be one of them!

Most movies end the way you would expect them to... I believe this one could surprise you. I recommend you see it if you haven't.

Is it just me?
11 November 2003
It may just be me, but I find the host much less funny than the previous post. He almost makes me want to change the channel... I watch the show because I like animals and enjoy some of the things they do, but I would much rather mute it and play a CD than listen to some of the stuff that Matt says. I wonder if he makes some of it up on the fly, or if its all scripted for him? And either someone slipped a few venting tubes of laughing gas into the air vents, or some of that laughter has to be canned. :)

Wow I miss this show
2 October 2003
I watched this show as much as I did the Mysterious Cities of Gold...apparantly MCOG was much more popular...you can buy VCD's from ebay (I have a set myself and they are wonderful quality) but I have yet to find ANY episodes of this series anywhere... I would love to find them again! If you have any idea where I might look, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
