The Presence (2010)
One of the worst movies i have ever seen
What i just saw was... oh the worst ghost story i have ever seen, probably the worst movie. Now to be honest, i was interested. I love ghost stories and I probably never saw a bad one until now. I bought this film off some store for a cheap price of 2 bucks and declared my money back. This film is about a woman who goes to a cabin which was one of the places she used to go to for her child hood. NOw she is being stalked by an apparition which does absolutely nothing but stare at her with an angry face. When i was going through it, it seemed it had a bit of a build up i mean what the f**k is that guy even doing there? Well i found nothing at all that was good about the film. There's a guy later who talks to the red faced ghost staring at the woman to death saying "hey! you want this girl eh? well all you have to do is blah blah blah..." NO climax, nothing cool, husband completely useless. I could have made a film like this with probs, 2000$. The ghost (the guy staring at woman to death) was to be honest a pretty damn funny guy i mean, you know I thought at the end he would take a handkerchief wrap it around his face take out a chainsaw and do this climax with a huge pool of blood but no. Literally, all he does is stare.
I try to say at least one thing good about a film but its not good like at all. Save your money, when 2 bucks you can buy it to see a guy stare at a woman for hours, but the best idea is to screw it.
1.6/10 thats generous!
Saw III (2006)
continues well, gory and surprising as ever!
Okay, now i heard from my friends that this 1 sucked. I looked online and they seemed to kinda agree, but it was awesome.
First things first, the plot. Its about a married couple with problems that has been captured by the so-called serial killer named jigsaw and one has to keep jigsaw alive at all times from cancer while the other is playing a series of deadly games.
In this saw, they focus a lot about the character Amanda who has a story quite interesting. I am not going to spoil anything, but i can tell you this, do not watch saw III without watching the other 2. The character jigsaw is once again, such an awesome villain, and the acting from others was pretty good. The complaint i might have for the film is that they went a little overdone with the gore it was not at all necessary, but i wont slam the film hard for that.
Overall saw III is a clever and well done sequel, so hopefully saw IV does not ruin the franchise. By the way, there are three twists in saw III and they are pretty cool 8.5/10.
The Roommate (2011)
not bad, but done before
This film was okay in a couple of ways, but i find that it was kinda a shame. I will get into more detail soon, but i'll tell you the plot.
The film is about a girl named sara who goes to collage and meets this roommate who really becomes a friend with her but is suspicious in her own way. Things begin the happen and there starts to be some weird behaviour lets say, from the roommate. For those who haven't seen it, skip the bottom and I would say just rent it, or skip this for somethin better.
(THIS PART CONTAINS SPOILERS!) The roommate, (not the title the person) in my opinion was the most interesting character since she was kinda a mystery to me. What got me into it was that she was very twisted for some reason and every 1 did not seem to be around her which kept the suspense, But there was no big surprise or anything from her. So at the end i treated this as a low class thriller with a bunch of teens hanging out.
Saw II (2005)
great, it continues well
After saw, I heard there was going to be a saw II as i guessed, and for a moment, i was scared even before the movie. I thought they were going to screw up, but i got the nerve of watching it one day, and I was not at all disappointed! This movie will lead to once again, another saw movie as the ending was a pretty cool shocker. The traps in this movie are really good, very cool surprises, as gross as ever, and one freaking good villain.
In this movie, Tobin bell (jigsaw) stand out the most in this film. He was great along with the plot. Its about a detective finding one of jigsaws traps again but finds a clue and eventually comes to confront but while hes there, a game goes on stalling him to arrest jigsaw.
I found some stuff about this they are not really complaints, but they left a plot hole probably to be explained in saw III. There are stuff from the first saw that was not explained. So the original is still better Overall saw II is not a disappointment, and is twistedly clever 8.5/10
Saw (2004)
An excellent horror
This movie was one of the best horrors i have seen. It has a great storyline, a huge load of surprises, and pretty good acting. This is probably a start to a cool/gross horror thriller trilogy and hopefully they can keep it up.
This movie is about two people stuck in a room chained to a pipe each with a room length distant away. They realize that they have been chosen to be in a game from a serial killer called "jigsaw." This becomes a great success and moves past pretty quickly.
I did not find any complaints really but you know, I'm reviewing this so I did find one. This movie did not really freak me out it was really just gore. Overall saw is a cleaver horror with a great twist 9/10.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
I knew it was going to be good, but never expected to be better than first two!
This movie was totally magnificent. Peter Jackson really shown 3 things, he has created a saga as good maybe even better than star wars, it has shown that it is way superior than the books, and he has shown one of the best movies of all time. This movie won everything it was nominated for (eleven) and really deserved it. This movie was the only fantasy to ever win best picture, and the third to win 11 Oscars. This movie has brilliant effects, acting, and anything else you can want from a film. The hobbits acted way better than the second one, this did have and ending, and it was the best of the saga. It is all i can say, and let me rephrase it, I am a strict critic, and this movie has shown one of the best achievements ever. It is totally over-the-top recommended.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
epic.....
OMG, this next part of the trilogy blown me away once again. Peter Jackson has created a film called Lord of the rings: the two towers and it is as good or even better than the first. If i compare these to the books so far, the first two has overdone it ten fold. There are absolutely great visuals, acting is still pretty good, and really entertained the crowd with a stunning cheer. There is a character you meet called gollum and he sets off with a lot of laughs and delight. The main hobbits were OK in my opinion. Sam was brilliant and I really felt for him, but Frodo was kinda a shame. He was fine in the first, but i found he was kinda idk, a wimp. be sure to ignore how he was kinda bad as the movie was great. This one kinda had an ending so it knocks that complaint out of the park. This film is magnificent, check it out!
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
A saga of years to come!
This is a film that has anything that you would want. It has a fantastic script, amazing visuals, great acting, and a very strong, solid story. This movie should have swept all the Oscars for technical, and it was (personally) the best film of the year. Even though it was hard, i did find one flaw and it was the ending. Now i totally forgave that since it was a start of another two films, and it is a hole-in one perfect. What else can I say? This is a movie that got me a fan of Peter Jackson, and I will say that it was one of the best adventure/action films out there. Oscars made another mistake; this deserved everything it was nominated for. Highly recommended, and you will have the same review as me. Cheers for Jackson!
