Watashi no shiawasena kekkon (2023)
Beautiful Love Story
I came across My Happy Marriage anime on Netflix on New Year's Eve. I absolutely loved the story. I found out yesterday that there's a live action movie. I saw some clips online and was blown away by how the actors and their costumes brought the anime to life. The casting for Miyo, Kiyoka and Akata were all on point.
I love the movie. The actors who played Miyo & Kiyoka perfectly played their parts so well, and really brought these characters to life. They have great chemistry.
Though the anime gives more details about the story, the movie is able to portray more emotions. The movie showed the relationship of the main leads better because there are subtle facial expressions and tone of voice that can't be portrayed or captured by an anime.
I love the movie version of how Kiyoka had to make the tough decision to leave Miyo with her grandfather. Ren Maguro's expression and tone really tells you how Kiyoka felt at that moment. It broke my heart! It's one of my favourite scenes in the movie.
The anime shows more of how powerful they are with their gifts but the movie shows how they really felt for one another.
I would rewatch it again. Heck, I would watch a dozen seasons of the live action of it was a series.
I've watched this movie twice and I'm absolutely entranced by the main leads.
I highly recommend this movie!

Beautiful Drama That's Worth Watching
This show is captivating from the very first episode. The costumes and cinematography are excellent. The actors I believe were cast perfectly for their roles and did an amazing job portraying their characters. Also it's a very good looking cast! The acting is top notch. The story is beautifully written.
The action scenes made me catch my breath and cheer. The bromance made me smile. The comedic scenes had me laughing out loud, and the sweet moments made my heart flutter and gave me butterflies. When Ruyi and Chief Ning gaze and smile at each other, it made me smile too! Their chemistry is great!
Their individual stories and character development made me root for them and love them. That's the main reason why these characters had the power to break my heart into tiny little pieces and cry over them.
The ending is not what I expected and I know a lot of people are mad and disappointed. I really wanted a different ending for these lovely characters but I guess the writer had different ideas. Even though the ending didn't go the way I'd hoped, for me, it was still a very good CDrama.
I don't want to spoil anything so this is all I can say, I wanted it to end differently than the way it did, but after everything, the last scene still showed their brotherhood and love for one another is still there.
It is a journey to love because the love and brotherhood didn't end.
That made me like the ending and lessened the sting of the scenes leading up to it.
I highly recommend this series. It's definitely one of my favourites.

It took a While to Really Enjoy This Show
It was hard to enjoy the first half of this show after just watching New Life Begins. On that show, despite being forced into an arranged marriage, the main leads were amicable and supportive of each other even if the romance was a very slow burn.
On this one, there's just so much scheming and manipulation between the two leads. They are a good looking couple and had good chemistry but I wish they didn't drag the distrusting each other part for so many episodes.
Sure there were some comedic moments, but it wasn't until the couple were on the same page and are completely honest with each other that I really appreciated watching the series more.
The last 7-8 episodes were really good because the couple actually worked as a team.
I enjoyed the action scenes throughout the series as well.
I really liked the ending because they tied everything up neatly and all the villains got what they deserved.
The Love by Hypnotic (2019)
So good!
I absolutely enjoyed watching this drama. I didn't get bored with any of the episodes. Every episode was able to capture my attention.
I love, love the chemistry and romance of this Chinese drama. It has sweet moments, comedy and just the right amount of action and angst. I think the way they introduced or presented the love triangle was quite unique. I didn't expect that plot twist. It's a good looking cast too. Honestly, I found the villain in the love triangle better looking than the main male lead, though I found his acting a bit stiff.
I love how devoted the main leads are to one another, despite their differences. They make the relationship work and try to find a way to compromise.
An enjoyable drama to watch.

Being a Jerk vs Being Abusive
I don't understand why this show got such a high rating and has a lot of positive reviews. I guess it's great if you like abusive men. How can you fall in love with a guy that's abusive? There's being a jerk, and there's being a manipulative, abusive person. I had to stop watching after 4 episodes. The male lead is not just a guy who's suffering from PTSD that's why he acts the way he does. I'm sorry, there's no excuse for manipulating, mistreating and degrading women.
There's a part where he demands she strips in front of him because she accidentally trespassed on his property and started playing his piano. She says something to him along the lines of "Do you enjoy degrading women?" as she is trying to unbutton her top. So he feels guilty and stops her.
How is that lovable or acceptable? A girl who's been through so much loss in life has is supposed to fall in love with a guy like that?
It's just gross to romanticize that type of behaviour.
The thought is so ridiculous that I had to stop watching after a few episodes.

Enjoyable Show
I really enjoyed this drama.
The main leads have amazing chemistry and are very good actors. The side characters are very likable. The male lead played being the pirate king very well. He can look serious and stoic, and then loving or goofy. His facial expressions are on point. Those dimples also add to his charm.
Aside from the leads fiery chemistry, the comedic scenes and the action scenes are fun to watch.
The female lead is very pretty and a good actress, but she's the reason why I'm not giving this drama 10 stars. I almost gave this show a 7 because of her. Luckily, I found that there are more positives than negatives to the show.
Her wailing was a bit much and I find it ruins the scenes. She cries like a toddler throws a temper tantrum, wailing and crying loudly. Instead of feeling sorry for her, I cringe because she sounds like a child who lost her favourite toy. Meanwhile, the male lead can really convey his emotions with a look or a single tear.
Aside from the female leads wailing,
it's an enjoyable show and I'm so glad there's a season 2.
Dr. Cutie (2020)
Disappointed
The premise of the show sounded really good. I also read a lot of good reviews so I watched it. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The female lead is a great actress from a comedic point of view, but I don't think she played the role of someone pretending to be a male really well. That giggle that she does is downright girly.
The male lead as The Commander, although very good looking, is not convincing as someone who is tough, ice cold and stoic. He always scrunched his eyebrows which made him look like he was suffering from a constant migraine/headache instead of someone who's stern and moody.
This is the first C drama I ever watched where I skipped 4 whole episodes just to get to the part where the male lead finds out Dr. Cutie is a girl. I don't find they have much chemistry. Plus their romantic scenes are so bland. I mean did they actually even kiss? That angle of how the commander's head is facing the camera looks like even the kiss is fake.
I finished it just to see how it ends. I don't recommend watching this. General's Lady is 10x better than this.
Generals' Lady (2020)
FINALLY!
FINALLY! A costume period drama that actually portrays a loving, affectionate couple. This show has a lot of sweet moments with a good amount of action, comedy, and suspense thrown in. The chemistry between the male and female leads is amazing. The actor who played the general did a great job in portraying a strong and stoic figure. I love how he evolved as the story went on. The female lead is cute and she really played her part well.
I just wasn't too fond of the secondary leads/couples in this drama. I just didn't care about them very much. I just didn't find them interesting, especially the female lead's maid, Rou Rou's love story. I found her character a bit annoying. I actually fast forwarded the show during her scenes with her boyfriend.
I still enjoyed watching this drama though.
I'll definitely re-watch this show again.

Beautiful Love Story
It's refreshing to watch a drama where the main leads actually work together as partners to overcome their adversaries instead of killing or betraying the other for the sake of fate or destiny, or some mission they have to do.
I love how open and honest the female lead is with her feelings. I love that she's not this fearful and coy female that needs to be rescued or to be protected all the time. There are times when she even does the saving or rescuing.
The side characters and second leads are likeable as well. The main leads have great chemistry and all in all, a very good looking cast.
I just found the series a little bit too long though. Otherwise, it's a really good show.
Yi Bu Xiao Xin Jian Dao Ai (2021)
Messy and at times cringey
I read the synopsis and was immediately interested in watching this series. After just finishing Hidden Love, I wanted to watch more of Zhao Lusi's work.
Unfortunately, this series pales in comparison to the beautiful, well-written and sweet love story that Hidden Love portrayed.
This drama has so many side characters and side love stories that are just over the top. If they had focused more on the relationship between the Mr. Ling and Anxin then it would have been better. Their pasts and how the met, and how they eventually fall in love are great parts of the story with a little bit of mystery.
It gets really messy when they have 3 guys vying for the female , 2 brothers after the same girl, plus her own adoptive brother. That's just gross.
The main male lead's elder brother is so obnoxious and full of himself to the point that he's very unlikeable. You can't even admire as a villian. He comes off as loud and stupid.
Then there's this endless pining that it makes these characters look so pathetic. Seriously, you think a guy had feelings for you because he kissed you on the cheek in high school, so you throw away your dignity to keep chasing after him even if he has rejected you multiple times?
Some of the characters are really weak.
The only thing that saves this drama is the chemistry between Zhao Lusi and Liu Te. Not to mention how good looking they both are. Liu Te fits the role of the CEO very well and can rock a suit any time.
I finished watching this drama just because I want to know how it ends and fast forwarded the scenes of the weak side characters. They aren't that interesting and doesn't really add anything to the story except lengthen it.
I guess it's something to watch when you're bored.

So Sweet!
This show is absolutely beautiful. The acting is perfect. The chemistry is amazing between the male and female leads that them simply looking at each other's eyes gives you all the feels.
There are so many moments that would make you go, "aww". There are lots of comedic scenes too.
The sibling relationship is very realistic, from their squabbles and bugging each other, to having each other's backs when it counts.
I love the friendship between Sang Zhi and her roommates. The friendship between Duan Jiaxu and his colleges friends is wonderful to watch as well.
This love story is beautifully written and portrayed.
Definitely a must watch.

One of the Best!
This drama is perfect. From the actors, their chemistry, the story and cinematography everything is a 10/10. It has everything, romance, mystery, action, light hearted comedy and good looking actors.
Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook are perfectly cast as the Goblin and the Grim Reaper. They did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
I love how the story builds and as each episode goes by, you learn more about their characters and their stories.
Even the side characters at the Grim Reaper's tea shop are interesting.
These short but meaningful scenes tug at your heartstring.
I have watched this show 3 times over the years and I cry each time. I never got bored rewatching it.
This is the only TV show that was able to make me sob as if my heart was breaking too, but even then, the ending was still satisfying.
Definitely a must watch.
My Heart Is Beating (2023)
Underwhelming Ending
The beginning of the story, the comedy, the friendship, and romance are all great. The actors did a great job portraying their characters. Unfortunately, I don't see that there's much chemistry between the main male and female leads.
Also, I think Rose is prettier than In Hae. I think she would have been a better main female lead. Then again, that's just me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.
To go through all of the things In Hae and Seon Woo Hyeol did to finally feel what it's like to love and be loved, then for the them to end up that way is so disappointing.
It has a happy ending in some ways but it's not very satisfying.
If you want a complete and happy ending with closure, then skip this drama.
From the beginning until the end of this drama, the theme is, "to have loved and lost is better than to not have loved at all."

A Good Example of a Mature Relationship
I really enjoyed this drama. I love the main leads. I love the maturity of their relationship. I love how some of the court cases tie into the development of their relationship and not just there to lengthen the show.
I love how the main female lead is not just a damsel in distress. She's strong, stubborn and ambitious and that falling in love didn't make her weak or give up on her goals. Also, instead of the male lead trying to bail her out or rescue her all the time, he takes a step back to allow her the freedom to grow and make her own decisions.
One of my favourite lines on the show goes something like, "Even if you take 99 steps towards her, you have to let her take that one step towards you."
I love the views/message shown in this drama about love, marriage and commitment by showing the relationships and marriages between the main leads' family circle.
I'm giving it a 9 because the secondary characters are so over the top, to the point that it's annoying. Like the ex-bf and his fiancee, and most especially the brother and his wife. Oh they're obnoxious! I do know that their purpose is to show the stark contrast between them and the main female and male lead's quiet, mature and trusting relationship. It shows them resolving conflict by talking things out and trying to resolve it, instead of yelling and screaming at each other.
It's a very good drama, though it's a bit long. I think there are some episodes that are just filler ones.
It's worth a watch!

A Really Good Show
I absolutely enjoyed this drama. It has the perfect blend of romance,. Comedy and action. It kept me interested the whole way through. The main leads had amazing chemistry. The other characters are very likeable. I wasn't bored by their stories. In fact, it makes you want to root for them too. The actor who played the emperor did a marvelous job. I don't want to spoil anything, but all I will say is that he showed the perfect transition by how a human being can get corrupted by power.
I love that this drama has strong female characters and not your typical damsels in distress.
I'm giving it an 8 because they deleted so many scenes where it perfectly portrayed the passion of two people having an illicit affair. Did it show love and devotion to each other? Of course! I just think that to remain true to the story, it could have at least showed a glimpse of their passion for one another. I mean most of the time they're just hugging or holding hands. What are they, 12 years old?
I felt that the ending was rushed as well. I wished it showed more of our main leads at the end.
Overall, it's a very good drama with great actors.

Exhausting
Great actors, amazing cinematography but there's just too many twists and turns, too many will they, won't they moments that it's just exhausting.
There were really funny and sweet moments that I found enjoyable. There are a lot of likeable characters. I just couldn't relate to them.
This is the second C Drama I've watched and in all 63 episodes none of them moved me enough to tears or feel for the characters.
Unlike the drama Love Between Fair and Devil where one can really root for the couple and want them to see them fall in love and be together. This drama, the heroine spends too much time crying and being miserable, that I totally agree with her mom giving the Yun Elixir so that she didn't have to go through all of this tragedy. This drama just didn't make me feel that love was worth it. It just made loving someone and being happy seem unattainable.
On the last episode, I was just relieved by the ending, not happy or cheerful about it. By that time, I was so done rooting for them that I was just relieved that they got their ending, finally.
I mean towards the half of the last episode you kind of predict how it will end anyway.
