Dark (2017)
Another super production of nonsense by Netflix.
Like most of this kind of series is overwhelming in the beginning.
Then, after episode 3 or 4 starts to decline a bit. But you wait to see how complexed the story will become. The concept is based on Time Travel and you hope for a more like Star Trek analysis on the science parts of the story.
But the creators have no idea about Physics and Mathematics, so they say a lot of nonsense throughout the series. You may say that its is a fantasy thriller. But it's not. They deal all the time with quantum astrophysics information but in a wrong way.
I could put even a 7 for the first season, for the atmosphere.
But in the second, things are getting worse. The script becomes son complicated than even Einstein would not be able to understand. (Apart of his likely arguments about Physics and Time Travel matters). In addition, DARK starts slowing its pace. The dialogs are so slow... (I timed the slots between question and answer and it is apparently between 4 and 10 seconds most of the time. By the end of season 2, you could create 2 more episodes by using these gaps productively.
The plot stars to be hyperbolical, overstated and unbelievable. The story starts to become like soup.
In the 3rd season all these characteristics are increasing rapidly, plus a bit of soap, and for me it was unbearable to continue watch it. But I did it so I can form an overall opinion.
We're expecting for the end... For something unexpected. Something different at least. Nothing at all. And the scientific conclusion was the we can travel in time and parallel universes, in the past, in the future, and we can affect the history of life.
Which is totally wrong. At lease at the moment.
So, in the end it was a lost of valuable time.
Finally, the actors are OK, lets say, (do not expect British acting), no humor, the music very good, script direction and acting, mainstream and cliché.
It could be very interesting if it wasn't the usual Netflix recipe. If it was focusing with nerve and guts to one direction. The scientific or the fantasy one.
Personally I would suggest less crying and pregnancies, more to the point, and more quality in everything. Expensive productions is not everything. The British have made masterpieces with 1/10 of the budget.
Just Shoot Me! (1997)
The best american comedy ever
To my opinion he best american sitcom ever. Clever, modern, classy, bold, surreal some times, and extremelly funny. The script is flawless. Five amazing actors, with the best chemistry ever. Love to watch it again and again. So sad it ended after 7 seasons. So sad that "Friends" consider to be the best '90s sitcom. For me the quality of the jokes and the themes are superior. Not to mention the 5 basic actors-comedians. Please watch it!
HAPPYish (2015)
Very Happyish
One of the most clever, bold, brilliant, modern, unique, smart, excellent TV series I've ever seen. A new concept combining drama (without easy emotional excitement), dark comedy, satire, high quality humor, twists, a radical script and an excellent direction. The type and use of music is marvelous. The basic actors are brilliant, and must admire Steve Coogan (known to many as Alan Partridge) for accepting such a role to enhance his comical talent to another level. If you could remove the American accent and put British instead, you'll have the impression that this is maybe a British series. If you have doubts that all around us is perfect, if you believe that maybe we don't live in a perfect world, if you are tired of all clichés and hypocrisy, and finally if you like real art TV, then you must watch it. No doubt why the series is cancelled in America. It's too bold, perfect, provocative and keen. A masterpiece.
