The Meg (2018)
Worse than sharknado
I never write reviews, but I really need to get this out of my system.
This piece of garbage of a film doesn't even try; everything in this film looks, feels and sounds fake. Everything: The script, the dialogue, the CGI (looks like something from a decade or two ago), the sound, the music and so on.
The pacing of the film is wrong, the editing is sloppy and they spent way too much on the details of the set, so everything looks totally out of place and you can feel it is built in a studio. Even the props used throughout the film looks like something out of a toy shop or something (especially all the floating devices in the beach scene).
The plot holes are so incredibly big that Sharknado looks like a documentary in comparison. At least those film don't try to be something they aren't.
But the acting is the worst. It is so unbelievably bad that it is probably the worst I have ever experienced in a movie. Ever.
The best thing I can say about The Meg: well, the lighting of the film wasn't all that bad. But the rest sure was.
Avoid at all costs. No, really!

Don't believe the upvotes
I'm writing this review solely to warn you, so you don't have to waste hours and hours of your life.
Despite being the most expensive Swedish movie (or TV series) made up until 1971 the end result is really poor; bad and messy scripting, bad and wobly cinematography with way to much zooming in and out, bad and messy editing, bad and inconsistent musical score, not to mention the pacing of the story which is frustratingly slow.
The overall feel of the series is very 1970s-like which is not helping in any way.
While the story behind this series is actually interesting it simply can't make up for this piece of c**p.
The only uplifting thing about this movie (or TV series) is the acting of Claus von Sydow and Liv Ullmann which is quite good. Hence the 2 star rating.
Don't ever watch this. Spend your time on The Little House On The Prairie instead.
