Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)
Let's do blood test to everybody except Thomas
So, Thomas had been working for WCKD for years, then they decide to send him to the maze (unexplained), and throughout all those years WCKD never ever did any blood tests on him? Like never? I mean, the movie has many flaws, but that one is just stupid. The worst movie in the trilogy by far.
The Irishman (2019)
Liked the movie, hated the make-up
I'm not gonna talk about the movie since a lot has already been said here and I have nothing else to add in that sense, but I'll say something about the make-up: straight up horrible. From the beginning of the movie there was something off with De Niro. It's not only those blue eyes so strange in him, but there's something disturbing about the make-up. I understand the guys aren't 20 anymore and it has to be difficult but I'm pretty sure make-up could be waaaaaay better than it was. His face looks really odd, like he has literally a mask on. Horrible and disturbing to look at.
Taken 2 (2012)
Nothing like the first one
There's not much to say. After I saw how Bryan tells his daughter to go throwing grenades on the street just to figure out where she is by the sound I ran out of words.
Spenser Confidential (2020)
Terrible vigilante movie
Yep, because that's what it is. First off, let me tell you something about the characters:
Spenser (Mark Wahlberg): Seriously, can this guy play any other role than the tough pissed off crazy angry cop/soldier? Can he? Because all of his movies look like a continuation of the last one. He's always playing the same thing.
Hawk (Winston Duke): Very little to say. A not-so-much of a sidekick. A character completely void.
Henry (Alan Arkin): Actually he's the only one who saved the day with a decent performance.
Cissy (Iliza Shlesinger): Flat-out horrible. Not so much because of her performance but because of the role per se. The prototype of the modern so-called independent strong woman we see lately in movies: rude, unpleasant, aggressive with men (she keeps insulting, pushing and poking Spenser every time she sees him - well, him and any male crossing her path) in order to show... value??
I'm not gonna elaborate too much on the details of the plot. I'd rather not spoil the movie, but I'll say this: what kind of ex cop goes around after leaving jail interrogating, intimidating, beating up and arresting people? I though he no longer had a badge. He's even holding a meeting with the FBI? A regular citizen? What the hell, Peter Berg?
I usually write here to say just a couple of words, good or bad, but after wasting my time watching this movie I had to get this off my chest. Save your time.
Cupid (2020)
Stopped watching after 5 minutes
Nonsense plot, horrible acting, awful effects. By the looks of the synopsis it was a promising movie, but after just 5 minutes you'll understand there's really nothing to see.
Midway (2019)
Terrible acting
Absolutely terrible acting. Not much to add to that.
1917 (2019)
Epic one shot
I didn't notice it at the beginning of the movie, but after 10-15 minutes into it I started to realize there were no cuts. I'm not sure how it's done, no idea at all if it's really a one shot or there are some imperceptible cuts, but the thing is that the human eye cannot perceive any cuts. At least everything seemed to me really seamless, except for just 10 seconds of blank screen on purpose to portray the main character's blackout. Hats off, really! Amazing camera and photography. I reallly enjoyed every minute of the film.
6 Underground (2019)
A billboard movie
I'll leave out the non-existing plot, which has been mentioned enough already. I'm a dialog guy - there might be no effects, but if the dialogs are good I'm in. In this movie the lines are so absurd I don't even know where to start. The jokes aren't funny at all, characters with no depth... The list goes on and on. Anyway, to me the worst by far was the method used to pay for the movie. It's a continuous brand advertising inside of every scene: energetic drinks, alcohol, watches, hotel resorts... it's disgusting and completely irrelevant - those close-ups of the brand labels are so obvious and out of place! I hope this is not the trend that upcoming movies will follow, because it's gonna be the end of good movies as we know them.
Chase (2019)
Terrible acting, terrible movie
How can this move be rated 7+? Seriously? The acting is horrible, nonsense script, and the dialogs really stupid. Terrible, really terrible movie.
Den 12. mann (2017)
Nice movie, insipid story
First of I must say I liked the movie because of the drama the tension, really well done, however the story per se is a little insipid for a movie, even though it's based on real events. I mean, it's the story of a the big failure of a mission even before it started where nothing was accomplished, 11 men were killed in vain and the twelfth managed to escape not to die. Success equals zero. Again, bad synopsis for a movie (although real) BUT the movie's good, and keeps the tension from beginning to end. I liked it.
