Daredevil (2003)
The real superhero movie!
The real super hero movie of all time. I'm a superman fan till the day I die, hope that is far off, but superman can learn something from this. The emotions were very realistic, even down to the point of the DareDevil's constant debate to himself if what he was doing was right. His actions were the same as those that he hunted. His actions were the same ones he was trying to stop. So what made him "The good guy". The answer is brilliantly expressed but never stated! In this day and age where we all need, on some level, a super hero, I can think of none better than a "guardian devil", a DareDevil!
But that's not even the best part. Bullseye was done masterfully! His emotions were, of course, harder to read, but I got the real sense of his jealousy of DareDevil. This film is very impressive, not the special effects wizards of the normal in movies today. The special effects that are the best in this movie are the ones that are invisible, effects that leave you saying, "How did HE do that???" never questioning if he really did that or not! Even the obvious special effects of the way he "sees" is not overpowering. This film wanted to be a film, to be deep, to have meaning besides what effects are in it. It worked! This is one of the best super hero films that I've ever seen, surely the deepest and most complex one. A must watch!
The Last Man on Planet Earth (1999)
Decent Movie
Ok this was a very decent movie with a promising premise. It was good acting, although a little rudimentry plot lines. The lack of plot and action though is its weakest point, I actually fell asleep during this movie, it just don't have what it takes to keep you interested. I think with a jazzer plot a movie like this could actually go somewhere big, but more thought needs to be put into it.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!
This film raises the question: If you could do it, should you?
The premise of alternate universes was done wonderfully here. Taking into account that evolution and even creation might not have followed the same path on every single alternate. On a principle that every variable or choice ever made or will be made produces an alternate universe. What happens when you mess with this balance? The acting is superb. The plot is realistic, if you concede for two minutes that alternate universe just might be possible. The story is masterfully told. The film is full of ethical and moral messages that you have to look for but are present none the less. This is one made for TV movie that I would cancel a night to the theatre to watch with no regrets. A new film to add to that small collection that truly is "must watch TV".
The Cable Guy (1996)
Multiple Watch Recommended
Note: As always some very fundamental aspects of the plot are included in this review. This is not meant to be a spoiler and in fact more information about the actual scenes in the movie is located on the back of the box than in this review.
I recommend watching this movies 3 or 4 days in a row. This movie is at first a comedy. The story of a man plagued by a crazy, aloof, and possibly mentally disturbed individual. Getting into one hilarious fix after another. This view of the movie as a straight forward comedy is completely shattered by the ending.
It is also the story of a terminal loner. The loneliness that this guy feels is hard to watch and really tugs you deep down. No wonder under this lonely existence that this individual latches onto any friendly attitude directed his way. When those friendly attitudes turned out to be more protocol and less genuine than he hoped, he reacts like a lover spurned, lashing out in his frustration.
This is a very complex and deep story and deserves to be watched several times, this is not some cheap "blow it up" movie that's only good to fill a few hours of your life. This story is way more than that and I doubt anyone could soak in exactly what this movie is about and the subtle messages the movie relates in a single watching. I still get something new out of this movie with each watching.
One of the best movies to come out of the 90's and I do not expect to see its match in this decade or the next. A must watch, perfect for your collection.
