The Terminal List (2022)
Stopped Near the End of Episode 4
This series has an interesting premise. There's a military-industrial complex conspiracy to be uncovered. However, the main character is on a relentless, bloody search for revenge rather than justice. The especially brutal torture scene near the end of episode 4 was the tipping point for me. I can't watch the rest.
Heartstopper (2022)
So Many Emotions
Decades ago, when I was in high school, I didn't even have the words to describe what I was feeling. I didn't know anyone else who felt like I did. Thank you to Netflix, Alice Oseman, Joe Locke, Kit Connor, and the entire cast and crew for this beautiful and moving production. I can hardly wait for the next two seasons!
The Secret of Karma (2020)
Confusing
I watched "The Secret of Karma" after enjoying "Alpha Code" by Milan Friedrich. "Alpha Code" had a coherent plot; "The Secret of Karma" did not. The story jumped constantly between the past, present, and future of the reincarnated souls whose lives are intertwined. However, I liked the look of the far future, and appreciated Brendan Frasier's brief appearances.
Deceived (2002)
Be not deceived...
...for this I say unto you that is an evangelical Christian film disguised as a sci-fi movie.
God Friended Me (2018)
The Writers Need An Episcopal Consultant
In general, I like this show. I appreciate the writers weaving my denomination, The Episopal Church, into the stories. However, they often make mistakes about Episcopal polity. For example, in a recent episode, Arthur said he was "appointed" the Bishop of New York. Episcopalians elect their bishops. Most viewers, of course, wouldn't notice such inaccuracies, but they stick out like a sore thumb to Episcopalians.
