New Year's Kiss (2019)
What the?
What the h*** was that? I got sooooo tired of the missed connections (fun drinking game?) and the Santa was so freaking annoying. I just... dude, are you Santa or not? I'm skipping to the end.
Perfect Strangers (2020)
Do they deserve each other?
I wanted to love this movie. A movie set in the Highlands of Scotland? I'm in! But... ugh. When Jen stole her ex boyfriend's car, I realized she might not be all there. Then when she fake cried... I thought that Rob should just run. I don't mind the ending, as both of these people are coming off long-term relationships and Jen is way too weird. But it's all so trite and boring. A B&B in Scotland that doesn't stock up for Christmas dinner?! I'm rooting for the teenage romance more than the main characters'? Skip it and watch Leap Year instead.
The Jack Benny Program: New Years Day, 1956 (1956)
Sweet and funny
I guess the other reviewer isn't used to radio. I loved this episode, oh sure the football coach part was boring, but didn't last too long.
I loved the radio show. Especially when Benny as "Old Timer" asks the New Year to take care of Jonas Salk, who invented the polio vaccine. I teared up a bit.
I laughed a lot. A great episode and a way to look at life in 1955 and how Benny ran his radio show.
Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators: Ill Met by Moonlight (2018)
Is it a happy ending?
I was really enjoying the episode. It was great! I loved Sebastian, as usual, and really liked the plot until...
(Spoilers)
So this daughter steals this priceless necklace and tries to pawn it off, but since it's worthless, she decides to fake her kidnapping and demand a ransom by leaving a bloody shirt at her house!
Then the daughter and her biological dad DRUG her mom to get the money.
That's when I decided poor Lady Bede deserved better! Just.
Alas, everyone's all happy and Frank promises not to tell Lady Bede that her daughter and boyfriend did any of this to her.
