Napoleon (2023)

You need to know the history to follow the movie

This isn't really a movie about Napoleon but more of a long trailer of his life.

If you don't know the history of that period you will not be able to fully follow what you see because events shown are a very short version of what really happened and a very short version of his rise to power.

Set design and costumes however are solid and Phoenix delivers a good performance. A very good thing that like in Chernobyl TV series they chose to do everything in English instead of trying to force actors to learn French or make them do a silly accent.

I hope after the theatre run there will be a much longer cut released because this trailer really needs it.

James May: Our Man in... (2020–2024)

Simply perfecto

First time since the latest Grand tour episode that I again turned on prime video. Perfect travel show. A lot of interesting places are shown and things that usually are not in typical tourist guides.

James May could probably do a 6 part series on Birmingham and it still would be interesting to watch.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe (2022)

Entertainingly dumb exactly as it should be

Mike Judge gave us Beavis and Butthead exactly as we remember them. And that is pretty much perfect.

1,5 hours of dumb fun. Exactly what the doctor prescribed.

Jackass Forever (2022)

Simple silly fun, perfect remedy for the current times

Jackass exactly how I know and love it. Stupid, silly entertainment.

Guys had a blast doing it that was clearly visible.

Some stunts funnier than others. Audience at the theatre had a blast, non stop laughter.

I actually grew up with these jackasses, thanks for the simple fun Johnny, Steve-O and the rest of the gang.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

The movie had no plot or purpose. Neo and Trinity are just moved from scene to scene where they fight and talk a bit. And what's up with those non stop clips from the original movies. Or do the makers think people suffer from memory loss ?

I fell asleep twice before finally finishing it, it's that dull and pointless.

Clerk (2021)

Still pretending to be that indie filmmaker

Smith can't stop talking about himself. He sold out many years ego and is a full fledged member of the church of woke.

So his pretending of being that rebel filmmaker is a massive lie.

Anyone with slightest criticism of him he blocks and then attacks.

Save some of your own time and don't give him the attention he clearly does not deserves.

Hawkeye: Never Meet Your Heroes (2021) Season 1, Episode 1

Jeremy Renner had the same attitude in the show as I have about the show

The attitude is: why am I here.

The fake female empowerment is present in all it's awful glory. Steinfeld's acting is awful. And of-course she somehow can beat a group of muscular men twice her size and come out not hurt after being thrown to a wall.

If it was all about Hawkeye then it would be interesting but it seems this is about the kid.

Disappointing.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)

Finally a 3rd movie in the franchise

I had a big smile through the whole movie.

McKenna Grace was perfectly cast as Egon Spengler's grand daughter. The new setting is very charming.

The movie is indeed one big fan service. But that is exactly what the fans, you know the ones who buy tickets and merchandise wanted. Everything is handled with outmost respect to the original movies.

The use of original equipment and the legendary ECTO-1 made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

The return of original crew to finish the job made everything come together.

Well done Jason Reitman.

And critics can go suck a lemon.

Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)

Why does this need to exist ?

Apparently Disney hasn't got the hint to stay away from this franchise if is not written by John Hughes. Part 4 and 5 were so abysmal that Disney thought let's make one of similar quality.

The agent of the young actor and the young actor in this movie should have known better before ever signing up to this.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)

My only complaint is that the movie felt too short

Venom 2 was my first visit to a cinema in nearly two years. I had a good time.

The humor of the original is still there. Venom is as sarcastic and cocky as ever. Hardy is still very likeble.

Woody Harrelson played a great psycho, solid casting.

Like I said in the title the only downside was the running time, everything followed each other up a bit too quickly. But it was still fun.

Looking forward to see what that post credit scene will bring.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)

Strong, Memorable and funny

And as Dave Chappelle predicted the SJW tears started flowing immediately and of-course there was demand to cancel him.

This special has strong similarities with Eddie Murphy's raw. It is memorable, strong and Funny.

And many many facts.

Dave is currently the GOAT until Eddie decided to step back in to the ring.

I am having tears of laughter

So much simpler than Madagascar and in the same time so much better. This is like one of the earlier top gear specials on a shoestring budget.

I still don't get how such big American engines produced so little horsepower.

Oh there will be a moment when Hammond will be wearing a certain type of a uniform, please hold on to your couch or else you will fall down from it laughing uncontrollably.

Please more of those simple ones, bigger does not mean better ( the cars in the episode prove that ).

Shaft (2019)

Had a big smile from start to finish

What an absolutely epic politically incorrect in your face comedy. Samuel L. Jackson is of-course the man, he destroys everyone with noticeable enjoyment.

And having the Legend Roundtree in the movie makes it a complete delight.

I can only wish for more of such movies. It has been one of the last new Blu rays I bought because most new stuff isn't worth buying or watching these days.

Clarkson's Farm (2021– )

Shows what an actual backbreaking work it is to run a farm

Absolutely love the show. Clarkson's humor is of-course epic. But this show actually shows what utter hard labor it is to produce the food we eat and how much annoying bureaucratic nonsense farmers have to jump through because politicians that know diddly-squat about farming introduced it based on advice from some hippies.

And you really can see that Clarkson wasn't just doing shots on camera and then going off and doing nothing, he actually worked his behind off.

Respect.

Coming 2 America (2021)

It feels like a parody

I was very much looking forward to this movie. Unfortunately it is not enjoyable at all. Many bad castings and actors clearly not enjoying themselves. The script is just bad, it tells nothing of interest. Also a lot looks very fake so fake that it feels like a parody.

Very silly top gear / mythbusters mashup

Both Hamster and Tory don't take themselves seriously and just having silly fun. The stranded part is completely unrealistic but it is clearly visible that they never went for realism so no harm done. Just a funny show to watch.

This is really revolting. This man is a criminal who did unspeakable things in Russia during the lawless 90s.

The west is shamelessly pushing him as some sort of freedom fighter. He isn't. He is simply bitter that he was not able to buy President Putin like he bought politicians in the 90.

He was so utterly ignorant that he thought that President Putin was another pushover. He was very wrong.

This movie is only worth it for Bill Murray. He is the only one with charm and charisma. All the other actors are utterly forgettable.

Lost in Translation reimagining failed because New York not even slightly has the vibe of Tokyo and the movie is filled with unnecessary / forced drama that just irritates.

Something tells me that Apple demanded some forced political messages because there were more than a few.

Ending ruined the movie

Ending scene on a bridge ruined the movie. It was if the director suffered from memory loss and forgot that everyone on Hemsworth team had radio communication and that he could have been informed several times that there was a sniper. Worthless.

It's vulgar, politically incorrect and utterly silly. But that's Kevin Smith and if you like his humor and his comic books you will have an hour of laughter. I will take this one over Jay and Silent Bob reboot any day.
