Elsbeth: Love Knocked Off (2024)
Science 101
Okay there was a huge plot screw up. At the end when Elsbeth stated the Fisherman went back to were the body was found and used a magnet to pick up the murder weapon, this would never happen because the statue was made of brass. Brass is a non-ferrous metal, meaning it does not contain iron. Since iron is the most magnetic metal, any material containing iron will be attracted to a magnet.
I don't hate the series but someone should have caught that. I can't image how sloppy the writers are if they don't do simple research like that.
I do hope they are better with the rest of the episodes. Hmm.
Love's Fast Lane (2023)
Cheesy and predictable...
I didn't like the Vin Diesel look a like that was a complete jerk. I docked 1 star for that. There's no way that Vin even acts like that. You can't just take a bald guy and make me think he was anywhere near that gorgeous silky sounding teddy bear of Vin Diesel. I was really turned off by that part and sped up to cut out. I liked the gist that promoting "girl power" to accede in what is considered a man's job.
And of course it was so predictable that she would be offered the job.
I guess if you aren't a Vin Diesel fan then you would enjoy it. It's a family friendly movie with an okay moral to be whatever you want to be.
Sense & Sensibility (2024)
Hallmark tried to copy Bridgerton
Firstly, I have to admit, I didn't watch this because I couldn't watch this. I can't tarnish my adoration of Emma Thompson's screenplay of Sense & Sensibility. I wish that Hallmark would have taken a more creative adaptation of the story and then used the diverse actors.
I have watched several of these types of adaptations and really enjoyed them.
As a fan of everything Jane Austen, I do have my limits. I have watched the other Hallmark movies in this series. They were okay.
I know Hallmark has been trying to reach outside of the box and for a couple of their holiday movies they aced it.
Please try again.
Leave the World Behind (2023)
Leave this Movie behind!!
WTH did I just watch? Why do the children always have to be such jerks. And why does it always have to do about race?
This was so stupid but me I am the idiot for sitting here watching it for over 2 hrs. Amazon does it better on doomsday flicks. That one with Chris Pratt was really good. The main actors were okay and that's probably the only reason I didn't turn it off. But the kids were terrible.
The ending was the absolute worst. I would rather have had them all blow up then some stupid Friends episode.
Julia must be so desperate for roles to agree to this.
So much anti - everything. Don't bother.
Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers (2024)
A Bridgerton wanna be...
I have nothing against the diversity of the actors but I don't think they were appropriately cast.
I am pleased that Hallmark is going outside of it's box and trying to create a different type of movie other than female being pushed into a situation with a former male companion and then having a situation that is conflicting the relationship. Or a damsel in distress storyline. At least it was something different. But they still have a lot of work to do.
The plot I found myself yelling at the lead female was her interaction with the mystery character of Mr. Andrews. One minute she was kissing the detective and the next accepting invitations from the mystery man!!
Still not horrible but not great either.
Sealed with a List (2023)
How did I miss this Christmas gem??
It's Feb 4th and I was searching for a comedy to watch. This title pops up and I check out the reviews. This looks promising and even though it's no longer Christmas season, I absolutely enjoyed this movie. The lead actors were fabulous. The only plot line I didn't quite get was the best friend that when she comes back, is only seen a few more times. My best friend that I haven't seen for a year would be with me at all times. But I get it. Carly need boy time.
This movie had heart and warmth with a little bit of humor sprinkled on top. I mean even though you knew what the ending was going to be...I still loved it.
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One (2024)
Flag displayed wrong!!!
What the hell??? Was there absolutely no editing done on this film?
I know that most of the actors were American and I could expect this from a foreign film production but last I checked DC was still USA.
What a joke for the Justice League to have the American flag wrong on their headquarters.
How to hang an American flag vertically:
When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.
Such a disgrace!!!
NCIS: Sydney (2023)
Leave NCIS in the USA
I thought it would be fun to see some of the scenery. Nope just a couple of drone shots. The characters are lame and sorry but the actors are kind of lame too. The tech girl is so awkward and the female Aussie cop is just awful. I kind of liked the doctor and the male NCIS agent but not enough to stay with the show. I will watch NCIS: Hawaii over Sydney because it has something more than just the job. Please just keep the show in the US. The whole collaboration with the cops just doesn't cut it. CSI can do it well but not NCIS. Sorry guys this was a swing and a miss. No hot dogs or popcorn to buy.
To All A Good Night (2023)
More like this one...Please!!
Yes! These are the real Hallmark Christmas movies I want to watch. It was top notch story and the actors, well, were fabulous. I have always enjoyed Kimberly Sustad and even though I wasn't familiar with the actor playing Sam, he did a great job. The chemistry was there. I enjoyed all the side stories. The dog was adorable. It had a little bit of everything, mystery, suspense, snarky, humor, and of course love. Please, Please and more Please, make these movies. I would rather have quality than quantity. It probably deserves a 10 but I don't give them out because I think every movie can improve on something. Well done Hallmark and Merry Christmas!!!
A Biltmore Christmas (2023)
This one is going in my rewatch list for sure!!
I know there have been a couple other similar scripts but this was so good!! I completely enjoyed it and will definitely put it in my list for Christmas movies to rewatch. Everything about this movie was well done. There was true chemistry between the leads. The side stories were well thought out and fit in with the main plot. My only question was about how she got some of her additional wardrobe. But I could easily overlook that. I smirked at the scene where she went to grab for the seatbelt, I'm not sure if that was meant to stay in or not but it was fun. I was wondering how they were going to bring them back together. There are a lot of what ifs when it comes to time travel stories but I don't care, I enjoyed this one. Merry Christmas Hallmark!
Catch Me If You Claus (2023)
Original plot for Hallmark and Christmas.
Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus. Kudos to Hallmark for having something that isn't be repeated a million times over. I thought the story was clever and funny. I loved both Luke and Italia in their roles. There might have been some predictable parts but at least it was completely enjoyable. No girl falling for a Prince of some foreign country or some kid wishing for his parent to fall in love. I will put this one in my list of repeat Christmas movies.
~~~~~~
Please keep doing fun movies like this. From my house to yours, wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! ~~~~~~
Fourth Down and Love (2023)
Love the actors but not it's not Grease
Pascale Hutton is one of my top favorite Hallmark actors. And she is perfectly fine but my issue with this is having a greying 40 yr actor playing a pro football player. Nothing wrong with Ryan Raevey he looks good for his age but this isn't Grease and hard to make him believable in this role.
I just didn't get any feeling from this. It was quite boring.
Although good for having an all girl team winning the championship.
It was fun to see all of the other Hallmark actors taking small roles to add to the all star cast. Are they part of the strike or is Hallmark able to get them to ignore the strike?
Psycho Kitty (2013)
She's no Jackson Galaxy!!
I've never heard of this person before but watched many episodes of My cat from Hell with Jackson Galaxy. Maybe the show just does a horrible job vetting people out. The 2 episodes I watched I would have rehomed the cats.
I don't know how they think a cats behavior is going change in a week.
These poor cats, yeah I would be hissing and biting too with that kind of treatment.
Oh and the follow up is awful! Does that Chris guy even know how to pet a cat? I don't if it's supposed to be comic relief to have him go immediately to the "psycho kitty" and try to pet it?
They must have blown the show budget on this cat expert.
Zhao Liang Ni (2023)
Surprise binge due to all strikes
Since the writers and actors strikes there hasn't been much to watch and I am not a fan of reality tv. The cover page was cute and I liked the synopsis. It's a lot to read the subtitles and watch the show but I got used to it after a few episodes.
I thought the actress that played the lead was really cute. She had a bubbly personality and yes her smile is infectious. The main actor took a bit to get used to but I grew found of him as well. I found myself literally binge watching 3 to 4 shows at a time.
It kind of has a 9-1-1 feel, with all of the rescue missions and such.
It's also a fun way to learn some Chinese culture.
Take Me Back for Christmas (2023)
Yes Hallmark - This was a good one!!
I watched the Prince Crush movie a couple days ago and gave it a 3 star because it was so awful. The cast was a complete disaster and story plot so overdone.
Then I watch this one and I am in complete love with the cast. Yes this might be a repeat story plot but this was so fresh and sweet. I'm crying and laughing and rooting for this loving couple.
This is what a Hallmark movie should be.
Please Please Please use whoever you did to create this movie again and again!
And make sure you cast Vanessa Lengies in more of your movies because she is so delightful. I remembered her from the reboot of Turner and Hooch.
Thank you for an enjoyable true Hallmark movie!!!
A Royal Christmas Crush (2023)
Casting disaster
Okay I know these are Hallmark movies but this one is so far fetched with the ages of the actors it's just absolutely absurd.
The actor playing Prince Henry (Stephen Huszar) must be pushing 40. There's nothing wrong with that except when you have the actress playing his mother, the Queen as being in her 30's. Really the 1 grey streak in her hair does not qualify her to be 60. And they don't even list the actor who plays the King but he looks to be in his early 40s.
The Prince crush story has been done so many times, I have lost count. Boring.
I just can't image there is no one at Hallmark that can come up with a better story or someone else that has to say enough already!!!
Wedding Season (2023)
Looks of Love
There were some decent messages of this movie but it didn't always back it up.
What kind of magazine was this? And what kind of writer was Trish to get bullied by her boss like that?
Of course it was going to be obvious that her best friend's brother was going to be this handsome hunk of man who performs a chivalrous act to save the day.
The points that I thought were quite ridiculous. Who has 3 friends that just happen to plan weddings each a week apart and all in the same location?? Go buy a lottery ticket because I think your odds are better.
The biggest joke was the brother is supposed to be a big time photographer and uses 2 pictures to express his brother's love.
And lastly Trish is a writer, why can't she go anywhere in the world to do her job? That's selfish to hold someone back from their dream job. Hint: couple #2 got it right.
Quantico (2015)
Finished watching since 2015
I barely remember watching the first few episodes of Season 1 because there was so much hype around Priyanka. It was okay but it must not have kept my interest because I stopped watching.
I started again now in 2023 and hoped that Season 1 would get better. I kept getting sick and tired of all the fake lies and deceptions against each other. The end of Season 1 was a complete and utter disappointment.
I started Season 2 and got done with 3 episodes. It was awful and I wasn't going to waste my time. I watched the last episode and it too was ridiculous and poor.
But I guess I am a gluten for punishment and started season 3. Guess what? It was my favorite. But I love Marlee and she helped make it enjoyable. I would have watched a season 4.
If you new viewer maybe watch a few from Season 1 just for a little background, skip Season 2 and go straight to Season 3.
Gunther's Millions (2023)
Who let the dog out!!
This is getting 3 stars because of Gunther the dog.
This was a pre-quel to what would be the beginnings of reality tv. I am pretty sure there has to be a knock off of Big Brother and The Bachelor in here. At least that's what it seems to me.
But then getting into the "real" aspects of the creepiness of the story and OMG what an absolute nut job this guy is. The poor dog, well not a poor dog, that's how I got pull into this farse of a story; the dog seems to be well cared for and not poor.
I can't believe Netflix paid for this crap.
Nor can I believe these people are willing to show their faces in it.
Don't waste your time. It's all a hoax about a rich demented sicko.
Pamela, a Love Story (2023)
Definitely more than just her boobs.
I never followed Pamela but of course knew who she was. I watched a couple episodes of the Pam & Tommy show but it was such a farce that I didn't finish it.
I can't imagine what she went through because of that sex tape and then having to relive it again 20 yrs later. It makes sense now why Tina Turner wasn't happy about the portrayal of her life by Angela Bassett. She said why would I want to walk through that part of my abusive life again?
Pamela doesn't blame anyone or anything on incidences that have occurred. She doesn't state it but I think she has gone through therapy.
I wish her the best and hope she finds some kind of love.
Haunted by Murder (2022)
Still predictable but not within first 5 mins
I am a little confused though, I thought Candace walked away from Hallmark to the new knock off network that was more on her moral compass? Anyway the story line was pretty good and yes shout outs to the daughters playing the past characters.
My biggest beef though was the house. That did not have the feel of a house that had been abandoned for decades. Maybe the secret hidden room with the cobwebs and the old stuff.
The house was gorgeous!
And the makeup director should be fired from any other show. What the heck was wrong with Niall's beard?
I wonder how many more Murder Mysteries Hallmark allow Candace to come back to?
The White Lotus (2021)
Even Brad Pitt couldn't make this impressive
I don't understand all they hype and awards. I tried to watch it a couple of times and got really bored. So I sat down and tried again. Only this time I watched it at a 1.5 X speed and it was doable. The only part I really liked was the manager. It was just so repetitive. The characters were blah. I do like Jennifer Coolidge but she over plays her roles. She always has.
The show just never gave me anything to really like.
Now I have only watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 and MEH.
The only part that I really laughed at was the sex scene where Tanya tossed her husband. That was funny.
Again might have to watch in fastest speed to get through it except there is too much Italian to read.
Mack & Rita (2022)
So disappointing and cringeworthy
I saw the original preview and thought it might be kind of cutie. It had like an essence of a reverse "Big" plot. I usually really like Diane Keaton but I don't know why she just wasn't even funny. I actually just fast forwarded through most of the movie. I'm not dissing it because I love most of these actresses. I just was not finding anything amusing about the story. And okay where in the heck did she get all those clothes?
I'm sorry the plot of the hot looking neighbor and Rita? Stupid stupid stupid.
Maybe if you're drunk or high could you sit through this. It's just a knock off of a Tom Hanks movie.
Blending Christmas (2021)
Not Grand Canyon in December
I'm not sure if anyone else would realize that Northern Arizona has massive snowfall in the winter months. It's not likely you could go shirtless in the morning. I'm not complaining because Aaron O'Connell is very fine. But him being shirtless for 2 minutes of this train wreck of a movie doesn't warrant the other 83 minutes of torture. The Brady Bunch reunion was really lame.
I think this was an attempt to give paychecks to a bunch (pardon the pun) of old 70's tv show actors.
I think the only smart one to pass was Maureen McCormick.
Unless you are bored out of your mind and want to go retro then watch but don't have any expectations.
Ticket to Paradise (2022)
Watch it for the scenery, not the story.
I am usually a huge fan of George Clooney and Julie Roberts but this movie wasn't that great. I just didn't find it all the funny except for the beer pong and dancing. That was okay. I know the one person who needs to get fired is the costume designer for Julia Roberts. Good lord what was up with those ugly jumpsuits. She wore 3 of them. That lavender one was hideous. They were in Bali of all places, why wasn't she wearing a pretty floral frock of some sort.
The story line was just boring and very predictable. But one thing is true... George Clooney looks good wearing a tux!
I have rated hallmark romcoms higher than this.
