If only they could keep their mouths shut!
4 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of the film is good. It works well BUT the acting is AWFUL! You can't feel them, but you can listen to it constantly. The director should have knowledge of acting, but it obviously didn't matter. The mood of the movie could have been so much better if only they could keep their mouths shut.

They constantly talk into each other's mouths. The driver of the car interrupts and talks constantly and it makes no sense. One moment he is interested in following the car and the next he doesn't want to. It makes ZERO sense.

It is such a shame that the idea and the premise of the film is destroyed due to bad choices. They should have at least had a script, but it's clear they think they're playing "Methos acting"; which they don't do at all.

Bad story, bad directing an
23 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The story is poorly written, the directing is subpar, and some of the actors lack acting skills. In Denmark, it was nominated for a Robert, which is Denmark's equivalent of the Oscars. This nomination reflects the standard for most Danish movies. However, the film sheds light on a common issue within the Danish film industry - a cycle of using the same actors and directors repeatedly. This restricts opportunities for talented directors and actors who don't have the right connections, as demonstrated in "KARTELLET."

And some QUESTIONS 1. His friend was beaten by bikers, but the film doesn't provide any further information about the friend or his condition, so we remain unaware of what happened to him.

2. His son's bike was destroyed, and a man offered his son a ride home. Unfortunately, the film doesn't reveal the identity of this man, leaving it unclear who he was.

3. His father was hospitalized, but the film doesn't follow up on whether the father is aware of the illegal activities or the events that took place during his hospitalization.

Kartellet leaves some of these questions unanswered, possibly to create a sense of mystery or an open ending in the plot. But it don't work.

This was bad..
14 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not only was the acting bad. But the story, the plot, and the directing. What did they want with this movie? Was it a comedy, thriller, or drama? And why could Brenda beat all those white trash alone? Was she superman, and how did she do it? There were so many pointless hints throughout the movie, but you never got the answers, And the last scene with the old folks was laughable. My god, it was a pity. But, on the other hand, the movie was all for the money...why not do something good while they had the chance?

I like all kinds of movies, and also B movies. But I look for a good plot, good acting, or some meaning. So if the acting is terrible, I can say okay, if it's a slasher movie. But I don't like films made only for entertainment for the people who MADE the movie. And I don't like when those producers or whatever behind those movies dont try hard enough but only looking for the paycheck. This movie was a disaster! It was a big punch in the face to all those creative people worldwide making movies...or they would LOVE to get their films on Netflix. But because you have a name like Latifah, you can sell sand in Sahara.

My god that was terrible. All plastic. All set up. Too nice, too clean and pathetic. What was the story about Kevin klines character? And everybody else? And music who did not fit it. It was a totally discrimination of how real life is! I like Melissa and her acting but she could not get this movie up.

It seems like that. I am so tired of clean beauty actor with white teeth, plastic skin. Even if they play good I do not believe them. Nobody looked like that. I'm sad for the next generation. Its sad for all those who try to look like these actors. So this series can buried itself in a hole.

This is a mainstream standard movie. You have seen it all before. You have even seen Liam Neeson tons of times in that role before. So if you want a cliché movie THIS is the Big deal.

My God - this is not good!
12 July 2016
My God. This could be good, but ended badly. Okay, I admit that I have only seen three episodes, but it should be enough to judge. The play is OK, however, J-Lo is horrible. The screenplay is filled with ridiculous holes filled with cliché after cliché. One should we see J-Lo show her body, the next her breasts, the next how she can smile sexy and how she handle a gun. But NONE of these scenes gives meaning to the story!

Either the writers came by this result sleepy or it may be the director. My wife and I finally had to give up because it was so embarrassing to watch. So stay away from this nonsense. Ray Liotta is good as always!

Can not be taken seriously
8 October 2014
This film should be at home in the closet. It's too bad that the actors can not manage to put themselves in the roles. The problem is that the actors obviously do not know their motivations, but think you can "play" a role. It is directly embarrassing but also provocative that the play is not taken seriously. It's okay to make a movie, but if the intention is that it should be shown to the public at large, you should also work then. The instructor should be familiar with the play and go through the script BEFORE shooting. I'm not trying to ruin other people's experience of this movie, because the intention is good enough. They are a bunch of people who want to make a movie. And that's fine! But it provoke me when I see the lack of process behind the film. And this applies to the director and the acting skills.... And I bet the actors certainly know what I'm talking about. It's about self- discovery and hard work.

The Ward (2010)

My god....Awful
3 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I had to turn off before was gone 30 minutes. Therefore, my view of the film is not fully done as a complete review. But I will tell you why I turned off. The actors who play the girls who live on the closed ward is so miserable that I could not bear to look at their plays. It makes me disappointed that Carpenter overlook this. Everything that I managed to see was so cliché on cliché that I had to stop ... One day I will finish watching it and (maybe) come with a comprehensive review .... if I have the energy to spend my time on it.

The problem of poor play is that the influence on the history. As a viewer, you feel betrayed when the story suddenly does not make sense anymore. I can not believe that a place like The ward exist. I can not believe that the girls in the department really is sick. One example is the "dance scene" where the girls danced until the power goes ... Why this scene? What should I consider as getting out of this? It is too easy of an instructor as carpenter, to make such a film.
