Beautiful film
4 May 2024
Brilliant performances from the talented Gerard O'Dwyer who is outstanding and the heart of the film.

Great performances from some Australian screen legends John Jarratt, Kaarin Fairfax,Peter Hehir,Roger Ward.

Beautiful film with heart laughs and some touching moments.

John Jarratt wears many hats for this film,Actor,Writer, Director and shines in every role.

Great seeing the legend Peter Hehir back on screen one of my favourite actors. He is top notch in this film.

See it at the pictures and spread the word tell your mates this is a great movie and help support this great Australian film.

A bonzer Australian film that deserves to be seen on the big screen.

A Touching True To Life Gem
14 December 2023
This isn't yout normal touchy feely unbelievable overdone Christmas film.

It's about situations that could be happening right now.

It's a story about struggling with redemption self belief and over coming battles with addiction.

The film is full of heart and grounded in reality.

The story is engrossing and the chemistry between Steve Le Marquand and Darren Gilshenan is a thing of beauty.

This is a touching drama with some funny moments.

Casting Hannah Joy was a master stroke she shines in this film.

The always outstanding Steve Le Marquand and Darren Gilshenan are sensational in this film.

Not everyone has a Merry Christmas but this film shows hope in a struggling time.

I hopy everyone enjoys this film half as much as I did..

Showed such promise
9 December 2023
Had moments of beautiful romance that hinted towards a remarkable love story but was undone by about the third leap and the ending was just a big steaming pile to go through all that and end it on such a boring pointless depressing ending.

Could have been a beautiful romantic film that i would have watched over and over but is just a mixed bag of bad lollies having eaten the good ones at the start of the film.

So much potential and the lead Sheila is sensational such a shame she isn't in more films she's outstanding.

Only wish you'd gone for the full romantic love story instead of showing it beautifully fleetingly, instead turning it into the film that is.

Watch the superior Hotel Coolgardie
16 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A film very loosely based on the disturbing hotel Coolgardie documentary.

Normally films based on documentaries go all out using it as a source only.

Or the other way try to remake it into a film without adding anything only taking away the elements that made it successful.

Here there is no can man.

No character no person who has any non self serving purpose.

Every character is a walking cliche.

The two supposed mates seem to be strangers and don't appear to have any bond or care for each other in any way.

Neither 2 main actors display the anguish or loneliness of their situation location. Isolation is a bygone concept here.

Black haired one seems to be enjoying her time right up until the last 15 minutes.

That Hulking piece of human waste from the doco is recast as someone roughly the same height as the 2 leads none of his real world menace just over the top psycho here.

The end couldn't be more over the top or far fetched, burn down a pub the only pub for hundreds of ks and the locals cheer you on for doing it no escape next people they see will be furious locals or the cops.

No buses or trains.

Give it a miss unless you haven't watched the doco but I'd recommend the doco truly horrifying.

If you enjoy d grade romance this is it
31 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Acting and story is woeful voice over is painful.

The basic story this sheila is dating an mma bloke couple of fights he gets injured she helps rehab him.

He pays her back by having it off with her sister.

Homeless she bets on old mate(not too bad actor) cops arrive(illegal fight) she ends up training him to beat her ex(not famous ex fighter character who owns gym)

She Easily chokes out the proffesional fighter within seconds (she's had zero fights, he's trained and fought is 3 times her size)

She narrates almost whole movie and doesn't have the voice/tone for it.

The ex is Most interesting character best acted

Get cheated on destroy his property, fantasize about threesome with ex and current crush.

Shest got e irrates because ex doesn't think she should be a fighter. And going by her on screen display he's on the money.

Trains someone to beat her ex.

Manu Bennett wasted use of his talent.

Could have been great.

Best episode of The series
30 September 2022
Comedy greats And creators of the series Wayne Hope and Robyn Butler light up the series.

And this is by a country mile the best episode of The series. They play perfectly off of each other and this episode is comedy gold.

This episode had been the stand out for me so funny and the writing has been bonzer.

It's a bit rough having to write 600 words for a review of a single episode but now having said that back to the review.

A spin off of these two characters and their families would be tops.

Have been hanging out to see the talented Husband & Wife team on screen again since their comedic genius was on display in the librarians.

Bonzer funny original film well made and cast play brilliantly off of each other. Simple idea that is well thought out and well executed.

Some great laughs and touching scenes a funny gem well worth watching for anyone who likes a laugh and some romance

It's a pearler
14 April 2022
Continues on the action from the classic Wyrmwood road for the dead.

Great acting Jake Ryan (watch Savage)and Nick Boshier are tops as the two baddies.

Great seeing Brooke and Barry characters back kicking arse again, new characters fit in well two top performances by Shantae and Tasia.

Sh**loads of action, not as many laughs but still a pearler of a film.

Top film got the digital n dvd on the way love it can't wait for the third.

Woefull casting
4 March 2022
Did no one test screen this?

The original is absolute comedy gold.

Australian host has no personality no comic timing. Get someone funny and quick witted Kitty Flanagan would be great or Shaun Micallef,

Cast look laboured held back , uk version flows and is hilarious.

Ross Noble steals the show only laughs in episode. Chris Taylor is great with scripted comedy but doesn't have the timing or quick fire for the regular team leader.

Australia has the comic talent but aren't shining here.

This is a poor imatation.

The gang have no conciense
3 December 2021
Because the actors are apologetic for past episodes, why would the always sunny gang be they're self centered ar**hol**. They have no remorse and are terrible people who do terrible things never thinking they've done anything wrong and that's what makes the show so funny and unique.

Half decent drama, weak fight film
24 November 2021
Halle Berry is great in this and her and the kid are the stars of the film.as a pure drama its half decent.

For an mma focused film with someone who was meant to have fought for a ufc title she can't throw a kick and has the takedowns of someone who's never had a fight.

Valentina looks great fighting but it's a poorly choreographerd fight.

Australians pretending to be American
7 July 2021
Australian film industry the only film industry that makes movies pretending to be Americans. No one believes they're American especially Americans.

America doesn't make fake Australian movies or the uk.

Typical hallmark type romance movie that would have changed immensely if it was ser in Australia with Australians.

Cultural cringe lives.

An original Australian comedy that has lots of laughs and some great new talent.

Reminds me of some early 2000s late 90's Aussie conedies in its style.

Fun film well worth your time.

Two Leads are amazing in this road movie with heart
5 May 2021
The young Lead Ashlyn Louden-Gamble is outstanding such a brilliant performance from someone so young.

And George Pullar shines in this touching road movie with heart, he delivers an absolute cracker of a performance.

George Pullar and Ashlyn Louden-Gamble Have great back and forth and are the heart of this film.

Also stars the very talented Aaron Jeffery, David Field and Alan Dukes with a great supporting role by Nicholas Hope.

An outstanding first film from Kurt Martin, he's done a ripper of a job writing and directing this pearler of a film.

See it at the cinema and enjoy it on the big screen!!!!

9 November 2020
First up before any drongo has a sook about me being with cast/crew or that. i'm not just a fan.

It's possible for people to enjoy a film and not enjoy it as hard as these reviewers may not believe.

And I really enjoyed this film a fresh breath into the Australian film industry and original idea played out in this top notch atmospheric film that captures the beauty of the rainforest and also the fear of the rain forest at the same time.

Beautifully shot and a great fun thrill ride.
