The Starling (2021)
A lovely story
What a beautiful story - told in such a unique way. I like how the characters had back stories but they were not force-fed to you and let it organically happen throughout the movie. The pivotal moment with the rock and the starling and all the followed, I cried.
Enjoyed this movie.
Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries: A Killer Unleashed (2021)
To cast a Sheltie in place of a Collie?
So I love this series. I am a big fan of the campy retro feel of story and characters; however, I was very disappointed when they tried to pull off using a sheltie and calling it a collie. Especially when the dog has such a big part. I have had four shelties and the dogs used in the episode are sherries NOT collies.
Other than that .... another fun episode.
Finding Joy (2018)
Love
I love this show. It is witty without being pretentious ... yes, it has some irreverent humor but it is a slow build and most of the humor has relevance later on. Really enjoyed this show.
I have to believe that all the "1" reviews are from people that are only looking for episodic television and probably only watched one or two episodes of "Finding Joy" ... give it a try it is worth it.
My Salinger Year (2020)
Loved this movie
First - I didn't know what to expect and the first few minutes I wasn't sure I would like it but I loved it. I don't understand the negative comments and maybe I am just naive but I felt the characters were well acted and so spot on. Margaret Qualley had a great blend of bravado and naïveté with a sprinkle of confidence .... exactly what you would expect for someone who lives for writing and now has to squelch that passion because she has to earn a living. Siquorney Weaver was wonderful as a jaded yet haughty agent - of course you find out her humanity later on.
Definitely watch this but watch it with a cup of hot tea in a comfy chair.
Change in the Air (2018)
Uplifting
So I didn't know what to expect with this movie but it surpassed even that. I mean it meanders through the lives of several people and you learn little bits of info about them along the path. The reveal is amazing and honestly left me wanting to write a letter ... to myself.
Please see this movie and have no preconceived ideas - just relax and enjoy the journey.
Safe (2012)
Safe to make a Sequel
Don't normally go for shoot 'em up movies, but this had a relationship we could invest in - Child and Protector.
Eight years later - we want a sequel ala Taken style
