Half the movie is slow motion :( :(
20 April 2024
The fort movie was an easy going pleasing experience. Not great, not terrible. Fun to watch. Yes, it had it's share of bad parts, but overall it was OK.

But the second one, oh my God, it was pretty awful.

Half the movie consists of slow motion shots. Uncalled for slow motion. There is nothing dramatic, nothing too fast, nothing that will actually require slow motion. Just a gimmick to double the time wasted on a scene.

Quite a lot of flashbacks, presenting the history of the heroes. Of course, the flashbacks are full of slow motion.

Then, the whole ideea, which is a continuation of Part One, nothing new, nothing interesting: one small village (+ 5-6 heroes) are up against a huge space ship, a Dreadnought, a warship.

And the argument of the entire conflict?! Some bags of grain and one single enemy.

Blast the entire village from orbit, plus 1000 square kilometers around it, call it a day.

Very confusing movie
2 February 2024
I had pretty high expectations from this movie.

I really liked The Ipcress File, The Boys in Company C, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Ladybugs from director Sidney J. Furie.

I also liked many other movies from Frank Sinatra, even togh he's not really an actor.

But this one was a complete mess form start to end.

The plot / plan / scheme was so convoluted sometimes, it made my head spin. Yes, I understand it was a spy movie, some of the plot twists were really intriguing, but also very infuriating at the same time. Some of them made no sense, even after finding out the exact nature of the plot twist. Some of them were so easy, so hack, it made me wonder who wrote the script, a 5 year old with a passion for Scooby Doo mysteries?

The ending was so abrupt and so meaningless and so anticlimactic, it made me curse for about 45 seconds.

Good God, this is bad on so many levels.
2 February 2024
Just like John Wick, we know by now that Jason Statham can throw a punch and kick some .... bad guys in the face.

OK, we got it, he will absolutely destroy all the villains that come on his way.

Let's find something new, something appealing, something to stand out from the crowd.

The story has also been used many times before and, again, there's absolutely. Nothing new here. Some inocent character gets into trouble, here comes our hero to protect the entire village (hive, in this case).

There are so many cliches and wrong things, that I don't know where to start. If you know anything about ransomware, cybercrime, hackers, how they operate, or even if you have some common sense, you'll instantly regret having expectations from this.

False advertising: good actors, but bad movie
13 February 2023
Lots of good actors and good acting. But the script and directing are really bad.

There are some good jokes here and there, but they are drowned in a sea of time fillers and akward moments and just plain rubbish. There are also moments for excellent jokes, but they are quickly dismissed and we move on to some meaningless dialogs and actions.

Lots of cliches, lots of second hand jokes, lots of things I've already seen tens of times in similar movies.

Many times it feels like a scene is prepared with lots of weird dialogs and situations just to get to a not so funny punchline. Obvious scenes are weirdly twisted just to fit some really weak punchline.

5/10 just for the good actors.

Started good, finished horribly
1 December 2022
First of all, there is nothing horror about this movie.

Yes, there is some gore, but NOT actual horror. I've seen worse in other movies, not labeled horror.

Like I said, movie starts OK. Nice plot twists, nice premises. First 60 minutes are OK, building up nicely along. People appear out of nowhere, nicely adding to the plot.

But then it all goes horribly wrong. The writers used all the easy solutions, all the clichés. Come on, it's 2021/2022, I've seen all the fumbles and 'trip over on your own feet' and 'walk past all weapons' and 'keep'em talking while I sneak behind, but stupidly make a noise at the last second' and stuff like that. People keep appearing out of nowhere, but now it's way less believable, it's just a gimmick to easily solve a situation.

The 2 main actors are good / very good, but the script takes a down turn and never recovers.

Huge problems
14 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Why doesn't Five just teleport and gather everyone?! Why doesn't Vanya blow the first cop 500 meters away (that means far far away, for the people who don't know what a meter is)?

Oh My God! This is really bad!
12 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The new season is miles and miles away from the original ones.

Biggest problem: everything is sooooo SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW. Very very slow. The lines, the walking, the actions (if you can call it action), everything is like slow motion.

Next problem: I don't understand many things. Entire scenes are completely useless, in my opinion. Episode 9, for example: - Lucy and Andy pick out chairs. What was that about ? - Jerry Horne is afraid of his own foot in the woods. Of course he is, he's a junkie, come on, he's always high. - why didn't Agent Tammy Preston ask William Hastings where did they go to cross in the other dimension (twice) and how did they cross in the other dimension ? - what's up with the 2 girls, near the end of the episode, in the bar ? - the song at the end of almost every episode. Why do really we need 2-4 minutes of music ?

Next problem: all the surrealistic stuff - will we ever understand what they mean ? - the transparent box + ghost (?) from first episodes: who set it up? - the space station (?) among the stars - the dark people from episode 8... and so many others I can't remember.

My rating is 3: - 1 because I cannot score ZERO - 1 in the honor of the original seasons - 1 because my wife said 3 (but she hates it as much as I do, maybe more).
