Sex and the City (1998)
better than sex
Okay, fact is, sometimes this show is better than sex and sometimes better than my favorite flavor of ice cream. This group of gals are my surrogate best friends, and it's always a pleasure to get together with them each week and see what they're up to. Will miss our "gatherings" when this goes off the air. Oh well, at least I have my DVD's and my favorite flavored ice cream.
In the Heat of the Night (1967)
beyond skin deep brilliance
This is a seminal piece of filmmaking. As in "To Kill A Mockingbird", "...Heat of the Night" deals with social injustices not only within the everyday world of the common man, but within the workings of governmental bodies, even the small purview of a sheriff's station. It does it with grace, style and thrill. Although this movie is fictional, it should be shown in high school classrooms as part of the curriculum. A must.
Woman X (2002)
Intriguing, well done short flick!
I happen to catch this film on cable recently. At first I thought it was going to be a feature length film. It's not. It's a short. But it had all the great qualities of a feature. The camera work was very good, so was the acting and directing. I liked the dialogue too, so in other words, I enjoyed it all! (Also, made me want to go to London.) My interest was kept through the whole story. Wanted to see more. And I have questions about the ending. But I guess that's why it's called Woman X. Ah, the mystery of it all. Try and catch it if you can.
