Death in Paradise (2011)
Good show but repetitive theme
The first couple of seasons were good. Then the show became repetitive quite quickly. Almost the same theme in every episode.
Travelers: Jenny (2017)
Predicting the future!
An almost accurate account of covid-19 has been portrayed in this episode. R rate, washing hands, 10 days incubation, and stay at home, to name a few of the coincidences! Creepy coincidence?
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
DC trying to be Marvel here
Looks like they copied the Deadpool theme but failed miserably here. They were trying too hard to make it funny and/or light hearted. So much lost potential!
This is probably the worst entry in the DCEU.
Crawl (2019)
Suspense? Yes. Logical? No.
My title sums up what I thought of this movie. It did contain some suspense (although it was predictable) but defied reasoning and logic to the point that it became annoying to watch. Giving it 4 stars because the gators looked realistic for most part.
Halloween (2018)
Bad acting and bad plot
If you want to watch a slasher movie where characters do stupid things all the time, then Halloween is the movie to watch. Bad acting, bad writing, and a worse plot!
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
Looks like the critics saw a completely different John Wick: Chapter 2
I can't understand how this movie has so many good reviews and from the critics too! I watched this movie today with a few friends and not one of them actually enjoyed the film. The whole plot was incoherent and the story line was a bit messed up.
Some of the messed up plots: 1. The whole point of trying to get the car back at the beginning of the movie was lost when he didn't even really seem to care about the car. 2. Killing his target? John Wick is supposed to be a legend and yet he openly walks out after "killing" his first target. Makes no sense. 3. There is also a scene where they fight on a train and Wick is stabbed in the thigh but it looks like the filmmakers forgot about it because he seems to be alright right after getting off the train. 4. John Wick breaks a rule of the continental hotel? 5. I can find numerous issues with the film but I don't want to go on a rant!
All in all, it is a complete waste of 2 hours. Good action? Yes. Everything else? No. Keanu Reeves reminded me of Steven Segal in this film. He (Keanu Reeves) had so many expressions in this film; all of them looked exactly the same!
For those of you who want to watch just action scenes without any story or good acting involved, this movie may be okay. For those who want to see some actual acting and a good plot, don't waste your money on this one, just wait till it plays on the TV and even then I wouldn't recommend it!
3 out of 10 just because the action scenes were bearable in some instances.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Not bad, but spoils the original Star Wars' experience
I went into the movie expecting it to be better or as good as the original Star Wars movies after seeing that it had a score of more than 80 at meta-critic.
Two things bothered me the most: 1. No training needed to use the force. I was disappointed to see that Rey could use the "force" so easily, without any background or training whatsoever. Anakin had the highest concentration of midi- chlorians and even he needed guidance and training in order to be able to use the force. 2. Anyone can wield the light-saber. Finn used the light-saber in battle with a sith and was almost as good as the sith himself. This goes against all the previous Star Wars movies where only the Jedi or Siths wielded the light-sabers. Others who found the light-sabers never used them.
Other than that, there is our wimpy Ben Solo who can't even fight against a girl who just finds out about the force and there's a new supreme leader who seems to have come out of nowhere; and it does seem like a remake of episode IV rather than a continuation of the story...
Most of the points have been covered by the other reviews here already.
If you're a Star Wars fan, like myself, don't expect too much from this movie.
How to Beat a Bully (2015)
Ignore the high ratings for this movie
The acting was bad and the lines were like that of kids (babies') cartoon (maybe worse). It was compared to "home alone" and the "sopranos" but doesn't really deserve to be mentioned with those movies. The plot seemed interesting and the film could have been better but the delivery was awful. That's what spoiled the film for me.
It does touch on the theme of anti-bullying (as suggested) but that's about it. I don't think this film should be marketed to anyone over the age of 6 or 7.
I was mislead into watching the film (thinking it would be good) because the reviews and the ratings. I would suggest ignoring them for this title. If you do want to watch this movie, don't go in with any expectations.
