The Core (2003)

Well what to say!

I would sound very negative if you asked me to give my opinion about this movie in a couple of seconds.

If given more time I would still say this is a bad movie but let's see what's still good about it!

A gigantic disaster has happened on earth as the earth's core has stopped spinning and we are all gonna die in a year. So to jump start the core again a team of researchers and tough guys have to drill down in the earth's crust, through several layers of magma in order to plant a few nukes near the core and so reactivate it again.

Wow original I must admit, but scientifically so poorly executed. It's all science fiction of course but there is a limit before I start to say you are going over the top (And I like, better I love Armageddon!)

Tension is kept high through the movie and the occasional disaster that strikes earth as the magnetic field fades is truly good cinema! I thought it was entertaining but on such a low scale because it was drowning in it's own mistakes.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Ow yeah incredibly!!!

Well my favorite Disney film still is Lilo & Stitch but this one is truly going second!

I know I know most of you won't agree with me but I'm a Disney lover of the new generation and the old. And movies like Atlantis the lost Empire, Treasure Planet and especially Lilo & Stitch entertain me just as well as Alladin and the Lion King did for me while I was little!

Finding Nemo is truly great on itself and profits from truly beatifull animation work! The story is adorable and the characters are perfect for young and old! I liked Dory the little female fishy suffering from a short-term memory loss. D0h I also liked Memento would it be because of that?

Well not much to say further, excellent animation, voice acting and a perfect story about a dad who has to look for his sun in the ocean(it's much better as it sounds.)

Disney (Pixar actually) still rules and as long as they keep up the good work I will be watching this movies till I am dead!

Fire in the Sky (1993)

For me the most terrifying movie ever!

I like short and clear reviews so let me try:

I became aware from this movie thanks to the discovery channel (I loved the UFO documentary's) and eventually found it in a video rental shop.

Well I began to watch and was not very impressed, everything was a little standard but it began to get more and more entertaining as it goes. Those who look for impressive special UFO effects should watch "Taken" because special effects are not A+ but very watchable.

The story really picks up while the movie goes and focused on the people element rather than the abduction itself which I think is a good thing. But in the end we are finally rewarded by visions of the abduction (did I mention this movie was about an Alien abduction :P)

The abduction itself is incredibly terrifying, I have a Phobia for these gray's and they haunted me in my sleep day after day and just wow! Incredibly scary :D

The Abyss (1989)

Wow that was a fantastic movie!

I like short reviews so I will try to keep this short!

Let me begin to tell you this movie is original! Not to many movies are being made that have an underwater setting.

The movie is about a drilling team who operate a high tech underwater drilling station deep under the sea. As soon as they become cut off from the surface in a storm near an underwater crevice things are getting a weird.

Strange in a way that the movie slowly shows that something scary and silent is there with them on the ocean floor. It builds suspension gradually until it ends within a climatic ending of the movie which I really liked (but some people have other opinions about that!)

Acting is great and the story very original with just enough action!
