Safe (2018)

Started well, finished poorly!

I was thoroughly enjoying the series all the way through, until the final episode when things turned out to be verging on the ridiculous which spoiled it somewhat for me and what would have been an 8 star rating is now 6.

Superb 30 minute BBC production, genuinely creepy and a great, spooky yarn! The BBC have produced a multitude of these short plays/movies over many years, however, they seem to be in rapid decline in recent years.

Your Honor (II) (2020–2023)

Worth watching

I'm an avid follower of detective/thriller series. This one I downloaded over a period of 5 weeks then binge watched the 10 episodes in 2 days. Oddly the overall IMDb rating when writing this is 7.4, however all I read are page after page of ratings between 1-4. This is a very good detective thriller definitely worth a watch and believe the negative ratings should be ignored.

Quite where I mustered up the patience to watch this entire debacle I do not know but watching grass grow is more intriguing.

Young filmmakers are conned....beginning and ond of story that could be told in under 5 minutes.

Excruciatingly bad

Managed to watch the first 25 minutes but was so incredibly bad I just had to switch off.

La La Land (2016)

I actually avoided watching La La Land for 3 years, even the title of the movie I found annoying. Romantic Hollywood Musical in 2016, give me break, I can't think of a more boring way to spend a few hours of my life. Boy did I get this one wrong.....I can't praise highly enough the performances of both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, nothing short of stunning.....is there any guy on the planet that didn't fall in love with Emma Stone as the movie progressed? Direction, music, production are close to perfection, I was truly amazed.

The Wicker Man (2006)

Not that bad.....

This movie is not nearly as bad as the "jump on the bandwagon " poor reviews would have you believe. I was entertained enough to watch the entire movie, it's not great....but really is not that bad. Many reviewers would also have you believe the original Wicker Man was some kind of "not to be missed" classic, it most definitely is not!

Emotionally ravaged

I had the strangest experience watching this movie...i was in a quiet theater, maybe 25 people total, all sitting behind me. After the movie finished I sat for a full 5 minutes emotionally rocked of what I had just witnessed. I got up from my seat to leave and realized I was the first person leaving the theater....I looked around me and people were either crying or like myself stony faced.....it was so powerful it was hard to describe. Personally I think it is totally unsuitable movie for children of any age, they will be bored, not understand, or overwhelmed.

I really can't emphasize enough how emotionally powerful this movie is.
