Never Have I Ever (2020)
Innocent, funny, fresh, warm and totally desi !!
As an indian am happy they finally made an Indian story in the US without the caricaturish stereotypes and also the first american tv show with an Indian character as the lead. This show is very fresh, funny, has very true emotions at right places and leaves you with a warmth and a smile on your face, you can't stop binge watching this in a go especially if you have an Indian connection.
Mardaani 2 (2019)
Don't wish to go all critical on a heartfelt movie
I won't say that every aspect of this movie was perfect but the message delivered was very important. The film tries to depict how a psychologically challenged rapist becomes what he is with the influence and help of this society that we live in. It kind of shows a mirror to every aspect of the society in an subtle way. This movie should reach out to people. The chase and interesting protagonist were in the plot to make it interesting and palatable to the larger audience unlike the tv series Delhi crime which was more realistic. Rani and Vishal stood out with their brilliant performances. This is a must watch, far better than many mainstream overrated movies.
Vir Das: For India (2020)
This is how a standup should be!
I never write reviews but all the stupid hate ratings made me wanna do this. Vir is a benchmark for indian standup comedians. He is one of those rare comics who is intellectually as well as emotionally stimulating, though he dealt with tender issues, his heart was at the right place. He can be offensive at times, to that i say that no good humor came from being polite!! A must watch if you enjoy quality comedy.
Apharan (2018)
Good storyline with full on entertainment
This show is along the lines of Sacred games and Mirzapur despite of being low budget . The USP is tragedy me comedy, it's a funny take on unfortunate events.
